Easy to use
I nearly bought a chain holder additional tool set to go with this but when it arrived there was one included.OK I'll explain. So you have fed the chain around and worked out how to feed the chain around the derailleur when disaster.... you let go of one end of the chain and noooo! the chain weight snakes to the floor and you need to start the chain feed again. Oh if only there was something to hold the chain. Wait there is! Chain in place, again, fit the chain holder and then both hands are free to use this tool.Sorry if I digress from the main use of this tool but that simple accessory makes using the tool so much easier. You now have all hands free to hold the quicklink in place, lined up and insert tool then operate (instructions included) and 'click' the chain is fitted.Similarly using this to remove the chain is fairly easy too. The chain holder can be used to take the chain tension across a quick link and the more natural action of using pliers, closing handles, will release the quick link. This is a must have tool to have if you intend to do any work with the chain such as replacing a broken one, removing for cleaning or just fitting a new chain as the old one is worn.To me not a known brand but it works beautifully and I thoroughly recommend it.

Really impressed
I needed this as my chain snapped. I'd bought a new chain and I've used KMC links in the past which can be installed by hand. However the chain I bought came with a link and I didn't have any KMCs lying around so I ordered this. Figured it would only see occasional use so why buy an expensive one. Have to say, am really impressed. The tool itself feels well-made and is more than up to the job. It also came with 3 links (one 9-speed, one 10-speed and one marked with just an arrow). I use 11-speed so will try the "arrow" one next time I need one to see if it fits. Also comes with one of those (I don't know what you actually call it!) things for holding your chain together while you swap the link. Very useful!

They worked okay.
Pliers worked okay, they were good value, a little flimsy maybe?

Ideal
Used this within minutes of it's arrival. I reckon i'll use it once every 1-2 years but it made the job of removing the chain easy. I had a quick release on my old cycle chain and could I get it apart - No! Ended up splitting the chain.Didn't size the new one corrected and needed to get it apart. This is the first cycle tool I've bought and used without instruction or need to view a youtube video first.Seems to be sturdy and more than capable at the price, and why would I spend almost double on the same thing?

Easy to use tool
Super little tool. I have struggled using pliers or grips to break open a chain historically, this makes it easy. The only point I would note is that on slim chains - 8 or 9 speed - you may struggle to insert the tips of the tool into the chain. The included 'hook' is very useful to hold the chain either side of the removable link. It would have been nice if the two items could be clipped together for storage.

Great value and it works
Came quickly, double bagged. Solid, works well and also came with a chain holder to avoid smacking yourself in the face and a few spare quick links, 10s, 9s and a generic looking one, nice touch. Very happy.

Makes a fiddly job easy every time.
Can’t believe how long I have got by with fiddling about without the proper tool. If you think you would like one then I recommend this highly. It is a lot less hassle. I use it on 9 (SRAM) and 11 (Shimano) speed chains without any issues. Feels light, at 135g, but seems quite robust. Also fits in a medium sized MTB saddle wedge, so you could take it with you if you really wanted to. Opening the links was very easy. Closing was fine too, although you do not need a tool for that, it is handy if the bike is on a work stand for further adjustment.

Great product and comes with extra quick release chain bits and a chain holder.
The quality is surprisingly good for the price and having the spring is rather nice. I would give it 6 stars if I could. The extra quick-release bits are handy (they should market them more) and the chain holder was unexpected and nice to have also. Works with virtually any chain, used it with my 1x12 (worked perfectly), and used it with a 3x6 (and also worked properly).
