The amazing story of an amazing musical collaboration.
Iggy Pop knew he would be recording the final album of his legendary career and he wanted his last album to pack a punch. He took a shot in the dark and asked Josh Homme, a life long fan of Iggy, if he would be interested in collaborating on writing material for, performing on, and producing his final record. Homme jumped nervously at the chance. The record they would end up making is nothing short of brilliant. This is the story of this crazy collaboration, from Iggy's initial text to Josh, through the writing and recording of the album, and through the ensuing tour's final show which would mark the abrupt end of this magnificent partnership. If you're a fan of Homme, you'll love seeing how he works; if you're a fan of Iggy, you'll love this telling of the triumphant end to his career. Casual fans may find it a bit tedious after a while, but hard core fans will love the details. I know I did.

Joshua Homme proved to be Iggy's finest collaborator since Bowie and the resultant album and tour
Joshua Homme proved to be Iggy's finest collaborator since Bowie and the resultant album and tour, "Post Pop Depression" was a triumph. This excellent documentary provides invaluable insights into the relationship between the artists, their work methods and the recruitment of additional band members. The tone is somewhat somber at times as the musicians pensively reflect and share their awareness that this is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. Viewing this is a bit anticlimactic after watching the excellent "Live At The Royal Albert Hall" DVD (wouldn't anything be?!), but if you want a close look into the hearts and minds of the artists and the creative process, here's your ticket!

Clearly indebted
There still remains a great documentary yet to be made about the late 1960's, to late 1970's New York based rock n roll, which would encompass both the Detroit that created Iggy, and the Punk yet to come. But, in the meantime, this is decent to show where Iggy is now. However, the biggest drawback is how much debt is owed to Dave Grohl's "Sound City" doc. Make yer own Doc, dude.

Dissappointing
Bought this because I'm a huge fan of documentaries, especially on music ,bands or the making of albums. I wasn't impressed. This lacks depth, could have been so much better. The sound quality on the live performances is much louder than the sound on all the interview sections, I found the interviews a little hard to hear and had to keep adjusting the volume up and down. Only recommend buying this if you absolutely love either Pop or Homme.

Not a music video
Disappointed that there isn't much rock and roll. Boring documentary. Iggy's viewpoints are often quite interesting.

Skips like crazy first time out of the package
Just tried to watch this and there were so many skips I gave up. So disappointed 😞 now I need to figure out if it's worth the return shipping to exchange. Really, I had people gathered for an Iggy watching party. So sad.

It's Rock & Roll and we like it
Two legends getting it together, both following a dream. It's a moving story, well told. Let's just assume you are fans of Iggy, Homme et Al. Roll on June 30th ♥️

Great insight
Gets a bit schmaltzy at times, nowhere near as saccharin as Grohls 'documenteries'Nice to see Iggy being reflective in his hammock.Shame we couldn't get the full gig, would've paid extra for that

A must watch for any music fan
Watching 4 extremely talented musicians come together and make a fantastic album. Josh Homme has always been my favourite artist in his various projects and watching this gives you a better sense of who these musicians are. A great insight into the making of Post Pop Depression.
