The only 10GBE fanless switch I could find - but also the best one I could find.
I purchased this switch as part of an upgrade to my home network to prep for 8GBps fiber and new firewall appliance I am planning on for year end. I first bought and tested the TPLink Omada TL-SX3206HPP - a fantastic switch with POE++, but with very loud fans. I am using this switch in close proximity to my main work area and so need things to be as quiet as I can make them. This QNAP switch was an extremely nice find, supporting all of the expected features of this kind of networking gear - LACP, VLAN, Combo ports for SFP+ and RJ-45, and many more features that make it somewhat future proof.I have a combination of 8 RJ-45 ports in use for 2 10GBeTPLink APs (EAP 773s), a 2.5GBe Firewalla Gold Plus, an Arlo 100MB camera base station, APC UPS 100MB, 2 10GBe desktop switches, and a 100MB OM-200 Omada controller. All the ports negotiate without issue and show appropriate speeds in the UI. I have 2 10GBe 4OM LC ports connected to a QNAP TVS-H674 and 1 10GBe 4OM LC port connected to a cheap Mokerlink 10GB/2.5GB desktop switch with SFP+ as well. So, with one SFP+ port open, the homelab and home wired/wireless network is able to support everything I need all in one main backbone switch and ready for the 10GBe upgrade when I get my new Firewalla Gold Pro and upgraded fiber in the fall. The NAS, Mac Ultra and EAP773s are all working well and I am ready for new WiFi 7 devices. A big upgrade from gear that I've had for about 8 years and pretty well set for the next few years and this QNAP IM1200 is the center of it.BTW, the SFP+ ports for LC fiber are the 10Gtek and work without issue and I have also used TPLink 5310 SFP+ RJ-45s in the unit without issue as well - have not seen any compatibility issues yet, so I think the QNAP switch software is pretty stable right now.Money well spent.

Heavy is good, heavy is reliable...
I was looking for a 10Gbe switch that had 8+ RJ45 ports and was QUIET. And this thing is certainly quiet since it has no fans.It has more features and ports than what I need, and it's more expensive than what was my original price range. Unfortunately there wasn't anything else on the market that satisfied my technical requirements and either had no fans or had very quiet ones. The built quality is top notch and hopefully this thing lasts a long time.

One of the few fanless 10 GbE switches!
Last month I was experimenting with upgrading my home network to 10 GB ethernet. First I tried some other switches, but they had noisy fans that disrupted to silence in my home office. I finally found this QNAP switch, and it's whisper quiet with no fan. Wow this thing is a beast! I didn't weigh it, but it must weight about 10 lbs. I've never encountered such rugged piece of electronic equipment. I'm impressed! It's complete overkill for my purposes, but I love it, and I'm sure it'll last forever.QNAP, if you listening, I would really like an unmanaged fanless switch. I don't need all the management features. I just want a 10 GbE unmanaged switch that is just as tough as this one.

Junk
Out of the box, boots, and after 60 seconds link drops and that's it. Serial cli works - defective software. No support, no manual.A nice (expensive) door stopper.

QSW-M7308R-4X
I bought 2 of these and returned 1…Initially I thought both were Dead-on-Arrival but after working with QNap Support it turned out they are configured for in-band management by default. So if you buy one of these, be prepared to connect to the management GUI via one of th 100G or 25G/10G ports… This can be changed to OOB management after initial access but NTP and SNMP are not supported when using the OOB portOther than issues with initial access/setup and no support for breakout cables on the 100G ports, this is a great product!

Amazing managed switch
Wonderful switch. I've been using it for months and it has never failed me, nor have I needed to reboot it. It is completely silent and built like a tank. QNAP has outdone themselves. The management software is versatile and easy to understand. Highly recommended.

Most Important=16 PORTS OF 25GB POWER!!!!!!!!!!!
In search of the most ridiculous DAS\SAN\NAS possible. 10\25GB Switch, all 16 ports. With a 1x 10GB RJ45. Dollar for dollar, 5-14-2022. There is no other Switch on the market that offers its capabilities. And it is veryyyyyy quiet. One of those, "is it on?".For a Datacenter, server room, This is a very economical upgrade device. For my purpose, it is to access multiple QNAP NAS's. It is incredible on the preformance. 25GB=2,600~ MBS per second transfer rate. It is sureal to backup 1TB workstations, within 16min.The web interface, is pretty straight forward.
