This book resonates with my own experience with love and the aftermath .We all have had that one, that one that we are sure we will never have again. Most people refer to this as the love of their life.It leaves you jilted, and bitter with the world. The pain debases you , reducing you to a lesser version of yourself. I mean you are up on cloud 9, the fall is going to be catastrophic. And you usually come out the other end numb and jadedSome find this love again. I guess it all really depends on how badly they hurt you, or moreover how much of yourself they took with them. Most of the poetry books I have on my shelf that touch on the subject of heartache and the human condition are written by women. I really enjoyed reading from this perspective. I’ve already read it a second time . You should put out more free verse poetry.
