A Disappointment
We've only used the yellow mold for making ice cubes. We don't make chocolates and haven't yet tried it with Jello. As an ice cube tray this is a bit of a disappointment. The cubes are rather small and melt away rapidly. They are cute and do look like Lego blocks but they just don't last long enough to be worth the effort. We also found removing the ice cubes from the mold to be somewhat difficult. Please note; I received this item in exchange for my review.

great for "solid" molding options (like ice)
I have a fair bit of experience using silicone-based products designed for food preparation and I was very impressed by how thick and strong these are as well as the design of the base (especially on the green one). The thickness of these means that they are much better at "self-support" (that is, you can hold them without having a tray under them necessarily), though I still think it's better to put a plate or tray under them in general. The molds are easy to clean and use, but they do contain very small details. I tried them with both Jell-O and ice and found that they are too small for standard boxed gelatin. Even if I use the standard dip in hot water to loosen method, I found that they did not loosen uniformly. I think that you'd need a special recipe designed to make firmer gelatin to use these molds effectively (and though I'm sure that there are many such recipes available online, I didn't try any of them). Candy that is fairly firm (even chocolate) would likely work well, but nothing too soft like fudge- or marshmallow-based candy. The trays are fantastic for making ice in shapes. Even the little extrusions on the bricks came out perfectly when something as solid as ice was made in it. I think these are great as long as your goal is to make something fairly hard or solid, but the size may not work so well if you are hoping to make something soft.

Great Ice Cube / Soap / Playdough Mold For Lego Fans!!!
** NOTE: I was provided a sample of this item in exchange for an honest product review. **The ice cubes that come out of this mold are very similar to the size you would get in a standard ice cube tray and thus are useful for a wide range of cup sizes - even smaller drinking cups which presumably lego-playing children would use. The ice cubes were very easy to remove simply by twisting the mold and pushing from the bottom and all the "lego" impressions were intact with little breakage. I didn't even have to warm the tray by putting it under running water. The first couple times I used the tray, there were some stray pieces of silicone mold sticking to the ice cubes, but after tossing the first few we had no further issues. The silicon won't hurt you if you swallow it. They are very small and the silicon will simply pass through your system. The tray was also very easy to wash.My wife plans on using them in the future for her soap making as they are PERFECT for this as well. I also thought that these would be useful for playdough or clay impressions - or anything else that your kids dream up. Bottomline is these are great, sturdy, and resistant molds with a multitude of uses!*** The product supplier has yet to determine a sales price for this item. Since there is currently no price associated with this product, I plan on revising my review as applicable in the future.

Inspiring Silicone Shaped Ice Tray
Quite a fun idea. If you want to use these for a party you need several trays. Also very versatile because they work as both an ice mold and a candy mold. I used them as an ice tray. First I tried plain water which works when the drink is colored. Then I tried adding food color to the water in the tray to make them more colorful. Finally I used fruit juice that complemented the punch flavors, which also does not water down the drink as it melts.Easy to pop the pieces out of the tray although if I was going to use it as a candy mold I would probably use a cooking spray because the details of the mold can make it a little difficult to get the pieces out. These trays can really inspire your creative side. I was sent a free sample to evaluate and review and I gave it quite a work out.

WHAT GOOD FUN FOR EVERYONE
REVIEWThis has to be my favorite along with the kids. Lego fans all over will love this mold. They are so detailed but not the least bit hard to get the product to release whatever you're making. I did find that it is just a little easier to put them on a baking tray if you are going to put in oven. There are so many things that can be made with this mold. The kids can take them outside to the sand box and build all kinds of things. You can make jello Lego blocks, cookie and candy, cakes. They all work with no burning of the tray or any hard pushing and pulling to get your item out. In the summer it is fun to give the kids Lego ice blocks for their drinks, even milk. My friend came up with the idea of making crayons in the mold. I haven't tried it so we are going to do that this weekend. The cubes would be great for colored children's drinks to make Lego's that ice up their drinks. I have to say though that they melt pretty fast in the drinks. They are just the right size for a couple bites of sweets, that chocolate that we all can't resist. Have fun because they are irresistible.I was given a complimentary sample of this item for my fair view. No other compensation took place.I would give this item 5 SOLID STARS........

Lego brick silicone ice tray maker mold
Any mother of a Lego fan will love these for her kids (whether they are big or little), my 21-year-old son's jaw dropped when I showed him this and the awesome ice cubes that I made. The ice froze within a couple short hours (balancing the tray is a little tricky when trying to put it into the freezer and you need to make sure to put it on a flat surface since it's bendable). These are almost the same size as actual Lego bricks, this could be used for making different colored ice cubes for punch at a party, for Jello, even for chocolates. My son is taking this back to school with him and I'm sure he will enjoy sharing with his roommates. Nice way to bring back memories and to make new ones.
