Taste Shokubo mini masher APM-214 (japan import)

As with others I needed something to mash up cat food. My cat even picks out the bits from smart Cat soups, although he does eat dried cat biscuit. Anyway this works better than anything else I have tried. It works very well on preformed cat food or cheaper cat soups less well on the real flakes, but used with small scissors I have a winning formula to save me throwing out the main elements of my very spoilt cars food. No idea what it is really for but if they made one with a slightly more raised and perforated masher head it would be 10 stars.

The size of this masher is good for mashing up my cats food. However, its made from a single piece of pressed steel which means that it only has a single 'arm' support between the mashing plate and the handle. That means when you press hard to mash the pieces of meat in my cats Felix food, that it flexes too much and begins to bend. I don't think it'll last more than a few weeks. It needs to be made from a single piece of pressed steel with TWO handle 'prongs' one of each side of the mashing plate and then bent upright and brought together and secured inside the plastic sleeve handle.

This is a great little masher, super-cute and perfect for mashing small amounts of things. It doens't take up too much room in a drawer. Make sure you don't mash stuff that's too hard or you will bend the handle - not because the handle is flimsy but because it is a small masher, designed for small things so only use it on things that are soft.

Works well for mashing cat food (yes, me too!) but the price is exorbitant for a small piece of cutlery, no matter how good it is. I have had mine 18 months and I’m still very pleased with it but I’m sure I didn’t pay even half the price currently being asked.

It is a good little masher but do be careful as the edges are not entirely smooth and will scratch your pot.

I laughed when I read the reviews of this mini masher! My cats won't eat lumps of 'meat' even from top brands, just lick the gravy (can't say I blame them), and mashing with a fork proved very tedious. So I looked for one of these, and found I'm not alone with this problem. This masher is brilliant, just brilliant! I'm happy, my cats are happy. I didn't receive the nice letter others had spoken off, but hey ho, the product put a smile on my face.

surprisingly difficult to get a small masher in this country without it costing ££££ so was delighted when I found this - tho I notice this has increased in price by £2 since I bought mine. I'd bought it for mashing small amounts of food for me - like the obvious potatoes, but as I have a number of cats and having read the other reviews then some day I might need it to mash their food too!

Bought it to mash chunky cat food. Very successful. This could be used for mashing children’s food etc. Strong even though it’s mini. Very easy to sterilise and keep clean. 10/10
