Big chonky fella!
I got the 107mm diameter version of this drill, which set me back £48, and is a bit of a beast. It has a good weight, and the thickness of the main cutting pipe is reassuring. The actual casting and finish is a bit less so. Honestly, for the price, the finish was a bit disappointing. It certainly didn't look as clean-cast as the photos. But these things get pretty crappy-looking pretty quick, so it wasn't the most important. It's all about the cut, build quality and precision. It comes with two separate fittings for standard and hammer drills for SDS and 3-jaw chucks, which is useful. The pilot drill on mine didn't have any thread. It's kind of like a taper-fit which you just push into the arbour, which is an odd way to do it on a hole-cutter of this size. Might be bias 'cos it's not what I'm used to though, and to be fair after a couple of slips, it did hold. It's just that once it had skipped one time I was very aware of it, waiting for it to do it again.Without undue pressure it drilled through an old concrete slab with what I'd consider average vibration, and though it was slower and louder through an old brick, it made it. I would imagine if you were drilling more than a few holes, you'd have 'driller's arm' for the rest of the day, but then again really, who needs to drill more than one hole at a time.In all I'd say it does its job. It's not outstanding, vibration is average for this type of big hole-cutter, and it chatters a wee bit--but that's to be expected at this size. But it does drill the hole at a reasonable rate of speed and without play, so the actual cutting head is good. It feels solid and robust, and is a reasonable price, so overall I'm happy.

Works great
This drill bit is a good piece of kit.It comes with two mounts one for a regular chuck drill and the other for an SDS.It is toolless to mount, the centre drill just slips into the mount. There is a little black flat bit to remove it if needed. The core part is vert sharp and cut through an old concrete flag I had in seconds. It's hard to take apart once used but if you have a vice and a spanner handy it make the job much easier. Only down side is it's a little bit pricey but good tools aren't cheap.

Looks and feels cheap
At standard price of about 40gbp and compared to other available drill bits it sits about in the middle and the quality shows, its not bad but its not the best, its just okay. It certainly achieves what it needs to but it wont win any awards.Material - Fully metal possibly corrosion resistant but not 100% as some of the bits do have a bit of residue on them that I am not sure if its rusting or just the material. The hole cutter is sturdy of course depending on the mount you use for it, I have a regular drill so I just used the hex insert, and with it it was a bit off center. Of course its not an expensive drill so that might be adding to it.Color - Blue, black and regular metal.Usability - Easily makes holes in plywood, and plasterboard (careful with the plasterboard as it might crumble on the edges with this.) Works well.

OK, but not great
I'm not convinced that the item I received is new. It has lots of dings, scrapes, and gouges in the core bit and arbor. The actual cutter bits seem to be in OK condition, but the condition of the rest doesn't fill me with confidence. The wedge piece that is used to remove the guide drill fitted OK into one arbor, but not the other, so again this doesn't fill me with confidence and points to quality control issues.Ther arbor adaptors allow you to use this with either a traditional drill or SDS drill which is handy. One word of warning, only use this on drills with a clutch setting. If a large bit like this catches it will easily cause the drill to spin which can cause serious injury.

Looks decent, hopefully it'll work as it should...
Perfect size for a job I've got to do... installing a couple of 100mm/4" extractor fans.It looks and feels to be of solid construction, painted blue at the moment, but that'll soon come off after the work's been done no doubt.Having the accessories included is also appreciated, and I'll be using the SDS adaptor together with a hefty electric drill. As mentioned, my initial use will be for just 2 holes, and it may be a while until it's needed again (unless someone needs to borrow it). I would expect it to sail through those 2 jobs, but 'longevity' will probably be something I can't vouch for, so you you'll have to check with other folk to see how it goes long-term.On a quality/vale-for-money basis... 4-Stars (unless proved otherwise).

Good quality core drill
I've only drilled a test hole in an old brick so far but it performs well.I have a project planned for running pipework through a brick wall, so this will be very useful. It comes with adapters for SDS or standard drills.Seems to be very good quality and I will buy others if I need bigger sizes.

A bit fiddly to mount onto the drill, but solid in use.
Putting the thing onto the drill takes some practice, but once its on it is very solid and drills very straight with no play.

Well built tool
This arrived well packed in a box with the main unit well made strong and robust construction. The attachments are of the same quality and strength , well designed and screw into the main unit tightly and without any movement which is exactly what you need in this type of tool. The drill bit is reinforced carbon steel and is a great addition to my tool box.
