Q: How heavy are the chains? Will it likely damage a upvc back door if blowing in wind? We have tried the bamboo ones that don’t last...

We never have had any trouble with the chains and our door is glass. The chains are heavy but not heavy enough to damage. They are much better than bamboo as they dont move much when its windy.

Q: how is this curtain put up?

It comes with a couple of hooks but we put a couple of nails in instead then it just slots on it’s very easy to do .

Q: My door is 850mm wide. Can I cut the aluminium rod, to fit my door?

You should be able to cut the aluminium rod with a hacksaw. My door frame width was 900mm and I drilled the external wall above the door frame, so did not have to shorten it. If you secure it above the door frame aperture you may not need to shorten it.

Q: Is this sting enough to deter a parrot from flying through? I know if it wants to get out it will.

Difficult to say. It’s a visual deterrent as chains decent size and closely grouped. I think a bird would find it hard to part them though
