Femco Compact Oil Drain Plug (M14x1.25-SB-T9 (10 inch hose)…)

This drain plug is nice and I'll post photos of it once I do an oil change. I like this drain vs a fumuto valve because it has a screw on cap that utilizes 2 orings to create a leak proof seal, the low profile of it also assures me that some road debre won't pop up and break it off. When you go to drain your oil the drain tube acts like a quick disconnect by slowly opening as its screwed on to drain and closes as you unscrew it. The plug is brass which I prefer because a steel plug I had stripped the threads on my last pan and I had to replace it but just as some reassurance I used PTFE tape on the plug before I installed it

I have a standard 5.9 Cummins. I bought the exact length as the standard drain plug. The threads were too short. Double check you thread depth required and remember that the washer they supply is much thicker than standard. Did they refund? Yes BUT they charged $30 for the shipping?!?!Make sure it’s what you need before buying.

This review is for a slim-fit M14x1.5 in a 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel 4x4 with the 5.7 Hemi.I was so excited to have an easier, mess-free solution for changing the oil. I purchased the slim fit one for my Rebel as I didn't want anything hanging lower than absolutely nessisary for offroading. It came in 2 days after it was ordered, a full two weeks faster than estimated. The install was simple and I tried it out with the last drops of oil left in the pan.I can see where people complain about the drain speed. It for sure takes longer, about twice as long in fact, to drain. It is a but frustrating but I will happily take longer to change the oil if I can do so with less mess.The design is top notch. I have full confidence in this product. I will be buying one for my wife's Stelvio next time her oil is due for a change.If only there was a way tobget at that stubborn oil filter without making a mess...

One person said he broke his because it doesn’t tell you what to torque it to. Each unit has its own torque spec right on the packaging. Someone else said read the instructions. I didn’t receive any, but this thing is pretty self explanatory. I had one on my diesel, and now I have one on my Tacoma. When I pulled the drain for my oil change the oil came out so fast it splattered everywhere…huge mess. With this I never have to buy another washer and I can control the flow. Oil changes are super easy now. I don’t have to worry about the flip lever style failing or someone tampering with it. I love these things!

Well, nicely made and easy to install. Problem can be when you start to screw on the drain hose, the valve can open early causing an oil spill on your garage floor.I don't think I would buy another one, at least not the low profile model.

Pay attention to the instructions! 15 ft lb! Use a torque wrench! I have not yet used to drain the oil from my Eocdiesel. I am looking forward to a no mess oil change. If you need to find the correct size, Femco has an application guide on their website.

No mess, no oil pan, just drop the hose in an old 5qt and crack it open. Do your filter and go drink a beer. Come back and pop off the hose and slap the thread cap back on and you’re done (also put new oil in but you knew that).

Bought this months ago, just installed. Very nice fit, easy to use. NO MORE DRAIN PLUGS TO REMOVE!
