Four stars for now as I've only just fitted the spike. Bearing in mind previous experiences I pre-dug a hole to a spaded width to ensure there were no rocks , or other obstructions, before refilling and compacting the desired spot. The spike was hammered in, whilst checking alignment, with the aid of a wooden block and a lump hammer. My 32mm rotary clothes line then slotted in very nicely to the pre-oiled spike. No problems.

Bought 2 of these so I could have a rotary washline i had acquired 2nd hand out in 1 spike at the edge of a patio for dryng and then stored in another tucked away by a hedge when not in use. Size is perfect for the 32mm drier pole to hold it firmly when drying in the breeze but still easy to lift out to the other spike when not in use. Would have been fab to have a simple cap with the spikes to cover the one that wasn't in use but I have easily found a bottle lid to do the job. It might be possible to bend the spike to if you had hard or stony ground but personally nothing to fault them

Does what it needs to do at a good price.Tip for installing:- please take your time making sure it goes in vertically as it would be a right PITA trying to get it back out of the ground once it’s in.
