Good hat, a really good hat, for the money. I wished it had been just a bit more quality on the wool - but that's a personal like and given the cost - it is just fine. I like the rigid style - which is how this style of hat should be - stiff, in-place and stays in place.This is NOT a crushable hat - so handle accordingly. On some men, I can see this style being a goof - on others very stylish, and a lot of that may be based on your circle of friends.For me the is purely a dress hat, matched up with a suit or sports coat I love it. I call it a modified Bowler Hat -Excellent value for your investment - even if you only wear it a few times a year.

When my order arrived, I opened the box to find a hat in perfect condition. It looked like the picture, right down to the feather. The box was large enough to contain the hat without it being crushed and it was packed so it would not move inside the box. This is a high quality hat, suitable for wearing to any formal event or just hanging out. This hat is not crushable, the wool felt is treated to make it stiff so it holds its shape. The box it arrived in is the best way to store it. My hat size is 6 7/8 (small) and the hat is a little bit large. Front to back the fit is fine, however on both sides there is a small gap. I used paper napkins to stuff the sweatband and now it fits great. Maybe my size is actually 6 3/4, although that is a really rare size to find. My size used to be 6 7/8 for a long time but recently that's a little large for me. The fit is the only reason I gave it four stars instead of five. Before I bought this hat I discovered that size small or 6 7/8 is many times not available in the style and/or color I want. When I found this in my size I bought it immediately At $38.99 I think this hat is a real value. It's high quality for a fair price. This hat will last for years. I love this hat. I would definitely recommend it to a friend or anybody that likes this style. I might even buy one for a friend. I just need to find out his hat size. I'm looking for a gray one next. It's hard to have too many hats.

This hat is VERY nice. Order a size smaller than what you wear. The fit was larger than expected just as other reviews state. We returned it, got a size smaller and it fit perfect.

After reading the reviews I was sold on this hat, but upon receiving it(each time) I was disappointed & irked. Pay no heed to those that are praising this product & stay away, for Stacy Adams is not producing a quality hat. I have a big head, no pun intended, so I initially ordered a large. All of my Bailey's hats are large & fit perfectly. However, the large was too big & kept tilting backwards. A homburg is supposed to fit well around one's brow. So I called Stacey Adams & the told me that the differential between the large & the medium was some 2/8 of an in. Considering I could get the broad side of my index finger between my forehead & the liner of the large I went for it. The medium arrived & it was damaged. The brim was all cockeyed. So again, I made another trip to the nearest U.P.S. store & sent it back. I had them rush me a new med.(I didn't bother trying on the damaged one b/c I was so irritated), & this one is too small. If I flex my temples the hat pops off. Moreover, the hat does not look like the photo. The brim is reminiscent of a stetson, & the crown looks like something a pilgrim would wear. I have several hats ranging from fedoras, rain hats, trilbies, driving caps, to baseball caps. Therefore, rest assured that I know what I'm talking about. This hat is made of a hard wool; not a durable felt like my Bailey's of Hollywood fedora. Ergo, it will not keep its shape efficiently. Do not trust a $40 homburg.
