Ubuntu Contributionism is the Way Out of the Darkness
I have been studying the global banking system and money for about 20 years. Michael Tellinger made more sense to me in this book than anything else I've ever read about money. Ubuntu Contributionism is the way out of the trap humanity has been in for thousands of years. The solution to the question about what types of reform to our monetary systems should take place is to eliminate it altogether. Without it, you eliminate the need and source of most government structure except at the very local level. With no money there is no incentive to steal, pollute, skimp on quality, engineer in obsolescence, etc. Bribery and corruption would be impossible and wars would fade into history. At first glance Contributionism seems communistic. However communism can only exist in a system that uses money. Tellinger has brilliantly mapped out a modern adaptation of an ancient African tribal way of living. He has a sound plan for getting from Point A to Point B that doesn't require confronting the system head on. It starts small at the community level. In fact, it has already started.I did some math and I'm positive the plan can work. If you take the total number of work hours currently worked and eliminated all work that had anything to do with money or government bureaucracy you will see that we can provide all goods and services that people want and need with just a fraction of the effort. This is a must read for any person who wants to finally be completely free and never have to worry about access to any needs or wants. Being mostly Libertarian for the majority of my life there were several concepts in the plan that were difficult for me to wrap my mind around. After 20 years of studying money however, I am now positive that Ubuntu Contributionism and the elimination of money altogether is the cure for what ails the majority of human existence on Planet Earth.I also recommend his lecture on YouTube: http://youtu.be/1-je56ImhAk

Well, at least he tried.
Mr. Tellinger has a nice goal (i.e. a human civilization that is concerned with the welfare of every single member). He makes a good case that the psychopaths and sociopaths who run the world do not, indeed, have your best interests at heart. The dots he fails to connect is that these same people are always the problem with human institutions. He believes that everyone will eventually move to a contributionist way of life. The few who fail to assimilate will just be a few hermits who have sworn off civilization and been abandoned by their saner family members. I'd be ok with that. I've got no beef with the hermit class. What he does not take into account is that a significant minority of humans are simply insane.I've had the anti-joy of dealing with many of these folks. Yes, they are a selfish lot, but it goes deeper than that. They simply do not posses the capacity to stop themselves from screwing others, even when they will suffer just as much as their target. No one wins. Not them, not the people they attack, not me, not you, not God, not Dog. NO ONE.Why? I have no idea, because I am not (that) crazy. Point is, there is no method mentioned of dealing with the evil bravely suffered by corporate and bureaucratic minions everywhere.Hmm...corporations and governments are supposed to be vulnerable to African tribal organizations? Seems that several hundred years of history disagree. Just go ask the Zulus or the Ethiopians how their kings are doing these days.Point is, this idea has stalled in the dreamer phase. Saying people do evil. things in one section, then saying they will all just simply stop in the next shows that this theory has not been tested. A commune or two started by people with the money to go around starting communes does nothing to validate the theory.350 pages of sweet sentiment do not outweigh an obvious lack of result. Put up or shut up.

Inspiring!
If you have seen the movie Thrive! you'll recognize the next step in this book. Cooperation, contributionism, doing what you love. Creating peace & prosperity for all. Not just an impossible dream, but a reality that we can achieve. This idea is not owned or controlled by anyone. It belongs to all of us to create for ourselves & our communities. It requires that we stand up in our humanity & become the person we yearn to be. No more fear of "authorities" who presume to tell us what we can or cannot do. Courage is required. Taking a stand for yourself is required. Breaking free of the programmed slave/servant mentality is required. It's where we are headed! Tellinger takes a lot of time to explain just why money is the tool of our slavery. We've been programmed to believe money = life & life=money. It takes some deep re-wiring to free ourselves from this emmeshment. That might be the greatest value of this book. If you take the time to let this notion sink in & see it for yourself, you'll be best prepared for this new paradigm shift. Kudos to Tellinger for tirelessly promoting this next step in our awakening!

Manifesting The World We All Dream Of...
When this book was recommended to me, it was a dream-come-true.From a young age I hated the idea of leaving childhood as I was told that eventually I would have to go out and join the Big Bad World and make a living. I did not wish to have anything to do with the Big Bad World, no-one ever spoke good of it.The world I dreamt would be a reality was free from all the suffering that was broadcast daily on The News. As fantastical as my vision was, I wrote a book of my own of such a harmonious world, so was overjoyed when I read the plan of action in this very book that details the process and stages, shifting gradually into a world society where EVERYONE feasibly is fed, housed and is appreciated by their community for the skills and talents they bring to it.This book explores how such a world, free from conflict can come into being when everyone comes to understand that People do Everything, and Money does nothing, and so removing the obstacle to progress on all levels.Everything explained within makes total sense, and I am aware that the Ubuntu Movement and the implementation of the concepts mentioned are already taking root world-wide. We live in exciting times!

Dreams from heaven?
Well I’ve only read half the book, but thought I’d write a review anyway, wouldn’t it be nice if we lived in a total full voluntary society (labour of love) Lol! free from any money worries and everything was free as long as you contributed to your community and lived in harmony. It may be possible as I believe anything’s possible but not in our life times or my future grand children’s time or this is what happens in heaven? I really think the author was ranting about how bad the world community has been and how everything is practically a corporation and all about money. It’s not really, most people are not bothered where our money comes from and just use it as a tool to buy goods and services, how am I supposed to live without it today, do I stand in the middle of a field with no clothes or anything and pretend to be a scare crow!? There is no utopia and the author is a dreamer or has serious money issues in his country of Africa. Also if like him, like Peter Joseph and Jacque Fresco, why do you ask for money for your books and use amazon? Bit corporate if you ask me! So you are a hypocrite really? I really think the only way it can work is if we get rid of monetary system tomorrow is to replace it with a Very clever AI system technology that organises the resources to be allocated to people’s needs.CheersMark h
