Scars that Run Deep: Sometimes the Nightmares Don't End

Fairy Tale
I'm afraid Mr Toucher decided to cash in on, and embellish the story of his first book Fear of the Collar which was great! This one was just about the second hand price I paid for it. I've no doubt there was abuse in Artane my father spent 6 years there!!However this story lost all credibility when Patrick kept bumping into Brothers years after he left there and even felt sorry for them. I'm afraid you would never feel sorry for someone who supposedly stuck a broom up your bum!!Of all the bakeries in all the bakeries in the world who should walk into his in New Zealand but Angel Face!!

This is a very interesting and entertaining story,a follow up to Patrick's Fear of the collar, which I read some years ago.He has now corrected his omission of the sexual abuse he suffered at the Artane school and the book is better for the truth being told.I thoroughly recommend this book to anyone interested in the school system as it was in the not so distant past.

Good Book
Truthful story. It was about time that these so called "Christian Brothers" were called to justice - Have read Patrick Touher's recounts previously and they are all an eyeopener. So many childrens' lives ruined - only hard work and strength of character pervailed that some of the abused children managed to stay out of mental institutions - amazing.

Heartbreaker
How could so called Christian brothers cause and inflict such pain, Patrick showed through his books the strength of a giant, and should be so proud of what he has achieved despite the terrible 8years of hell at the hands of the Christian brothers.

Excellent book based on the true story, a real eye opener to what these children were put through and how their lives were affected by these abused childhoods
