Not very waterproof
I bought this for walking my dog. I live in Wales where it rains constantly, so I need a waterproof coat. I previously owned a Barbour, which was waterproof but pretty heavy (and expensive). Good points - his is a lot cheaper and far lighter than a BarbourNot so good points. The cut is a bit strange. I first bought an XL, which is my usual size, and it was far too big. Exchanged it for an L which is comfortable once it's on, but a bit tight across the back so it does not slip on that easily. I wore it for an hour in the rain, and it soon became quite damp inside. It was not as bad as some of the "waterproof" items I have previously bought from Mountain warehouse, but certainly not as good as a Barbour. I'm going to give it another coat of wax to see if that helps.

Dry and warm
Used for dog walking in the cold and wet. What a difference it made. Wish I had got one of these years ago

Good coat
Very good coat waterproof as advertisedWarm and protects you against the windBut the zipper keeps coming off for some reason when i zip it up all the way upAnd the hood is a bit small considering that itβs a xtra large coat leaving my forehead and face exposed to the elements a bit too much for my liking

Just one drawback.
Bought this for my husband. He works in farmyards. Heβs pleased with the protection this coat offers. Only issue is the hanging hook is too flimsy for the weight of the coat.

Good value for money
I bought the dark blue version of this stockmans jacket as it said it came with a hood (which it did).I'm a 46" chest and about 6' tall, and the XL size I ordered is a good, relaxed fit but will probably be too short in the arm for anyone taller. It isn't as high quality as a premium brand (like Barbour) but at a third of the price of most of them it still feels very good value for money and you dont notice the different when wearing it.The one I have only has 1 inside pocket (chest pocket), which may make it less useful for shooting (or poaching ;-) ). As it is I'm only using it as a full length raincoat so it didnt bother me.There's a flap fastener on the collar but it is so tight, even on the loosest position, you'll half choke to death if you used it. That being the case it just becomes an annoying flap that makes the collar look asymmetrical and performs no useful function. It came drenched in wax coating. Other waxed jackets I've had in the past haven't been anywhere near so thick with the stuff. I'm sure it is good for the waterproofing but has meant I have been left with a waxy residue on my hands (and trousers - because the coat is only lined to the waist). I'll probably try wiping the excess off rather than letting it 'age naturally' as its quite annoying. So far it has proved waterproof on my first few uses.

Worth having this
Would suggest a zip on the inside pocket for more safety. Otherwise....similar to the one I bought some years ago and now need to replace simply because it is looking a little 'scrappy'. New one is decent quality for the money paid. Comes with a pop-on hood. If I recall, surprisingly warm in Winter despite it might appear to be 'thin' but it is warm. I am around 5 feet 3 inches tall. I got XL size, which is a good length for me, although I might have wished for a slightly more generous 'body' in the coat, it is still a good fit for me. Heavy enough for Winter wearing a jumper. It does have a certain 'style' :-) I am pleased enough to be considering a second purchase.
