Nongshim's Shin Ramyun is one of the best of the premium instant ramen noodles available. The noodles are of medium thickness and taste excellent, the soup base tastes great and is way better than a powdered base should be, the spiciness level is as advertised. It's best to use these as a blank canvas upon which other ingredients are added, like vegetables, pork or beef, an egg, mushrooms, cheese, whatever you like. Excellent meal.

Branded ChopsticksThese are the shin ramen noodles you can get at the Asian supermarket. I’m glad you can buy online now. These came with a pack of 10 individually packed instant noodles. What’s even better is that it came with chopsticks! In order to make them, you can do it 2 ways, boil a bit of water and place the noodles in to cook, add the flavors and voila DELICIOUSNESS. OR you can place these in a bowl of water and microwave on high for 3 minutes, add the flavor packaging in. You can be extra and add eggs, scallions, beef, pork, kimchi, etc. The possibilities are endless when you want a quick meal!

The noodles arrived mostly unbroken (yay!). The noodles were of standard freshness for instant ramen, not any different from the ones I usually get from my local asian supermarket.Shin ramen is the most basic and classic korean instant noodles. If you're new to korean instant ramen, I would recommend this Shin ramen, although a lot of non asians find that this has a kick.The noodle texture is at best if you boil a pot of water with the flakes and the powder, (just enough water to submerge the noodles), add the noodles in when it's boiling. Wait up to a minute to stir the noodles, then leave it to cook for another 2 minutes or so or until the noodles are at the texture that you want. If it's too salty, add a little more water.DO NOT ADD TOO MUCH WATER because it will COMPLETELY ruin the ramen and there's no way to fix it.Start with a little bit of water and you can add more water in later.You can also crack an egg in there and compliment with chopped spring onions at the end.

If you like spicy Ramen with good quality noodles, you will love Shin Ramyun! Trust when I tell you that this soup being described as fiery, doesn't say enough...it is fiery plus! I love it cooked with the entire spice packet because I have a high tolerance for spicy hot. I would suggest that one start with half a packet of the red sauce and adjust it to your spice level.I really admire that this soup is not just about a fiery broth, this broth has a good flavor even without the spice packet. The noodles are 100% better than most ramens I have eaten. They are sturdy and have a nice chew to them.You can eat this ramen as is or you can add meat and eggs to it for a heartier, more filling dish.

This is a good tasting ramen, and made slightly different from most bagged noodles. This one wants you to combine the flavoring and veggie packets with the noodles when you put them in boiling water. Most other bagged noodles have you add the extras after you boil and drain just the noodles. I found this brands method made the noodles absorb more of the flavor, thereby making them have a better taste. These are stated to be spicy, but I found the spice level to be rather low, but still tasty. The sodium level for the entire bag is a rated rather high, and probably why they state the serving size is only half a bag. I saved myself from complete sodium overload by not eating the leftover soup.

I have been eating ramen since my college days and it is a favorite of mine. The Nongshim ramen is very good. The ramen comes in a round shape approximately 5 inches in diameter. There are two packets of spices included. One is a hot spice packet and the other appears to be dehydrated vegetable bits. There are also 10 pairs of chopsticks included with the ramen. The ramen is spicy, but not overly so. I like to drain off most of the liquid before I eat my ramen, so it might have tasted spicier if I left more spicy broth with the ramen. Overall, very good.
