Mediocre
I love regency romances! I read the first book in this series, and it was ok, so I decided to give book two a try. This book had a mildly intriguing premise - childhood friends marry for convenience only to fall in love. The heroine, Miss Cassandra Holwell, was aggravating through most of the book - pretty and rich but sheltered and very immature. The hero, Soren York, Earl of Dewsberry, was more compelling - handsome, aristocratic, kind, and loyal. They didn’t have much chemistry and no sizzle. The storyline was contrived and predictable. Overall, not a bad book but never caught my fancy.

Not Her Best
Cathy Maxwell usually grabs me by the heart leaving me breathless. This book however, didn't do it for me. I actually skimmed through some of it and THAT is something I rarely do. I didn't like the H and h and really disliked the dishonesty between them. I still love the author just didn't "love" the book, at all.

Feel good read
This is simply a feel good, drama free, escape. Fun dialogue, good romance and a fairly real world depiction of figuring out marriage. I liked that there was no contrived drama and that the aim characters solved problems and moved on. It helps that The Earl is pretty awesome and gets Cassandra. Good dialogue and romance too.

I enjoyed this book and read without stopping. However as the story moved on there were a few ‘spots’ where I quickly moved pages. Emotional dialogue seemed to quickly change directionWhich was a little unbelievable. I know that is how fiction works..... anxious to see how Willa’s life develops.

A good read
The author does not disappoint. The heroine starts out immature and shallow sighted but quickly develops into a loving open individual. The romance is sweet and lauds tge virtue of character over money.

I usually love Cathy Maxwell but the hero in this novel is awful. He is completely dishonest with the heroine and is one of the most selfish characters I have ever had the misfortune to read in a "happily ever after" novel.
