Really good quality vinegar
This rice quality vinegar is seriously some gourmet food. Aged 3 years with no artificial preservative, it's a great find. The aroma, taste, smell and consistency is special from regular vinegar. It makes a great dipping sauce or can be used in marinade or cooking. The bottle was sealed good and no leaks. I will buy it agin.

Great vinegar for dips, marinades, and dressings
This is a 500 ml bottle of Baoning barrel aged black rice vinegar by Sichuan Baoning Vinegar Co. It arrived in perfect condition, in a really lovely bottle with an attractive label. I'm not an expert on black vinegar by any means, but I've had it in restaurants of course. I was happy to be presented with the opportunity to order this bottle. This vinegar is very dark brown. The first thing I noticed when I tasted it on its own was that it tasted like molasses, but of course very tangy/acidic and not sweet. I checked the label and discovered why...one of the ingredients is sorghum. This vinegar has a tasty, very complex flavor from barrel aging. It is perfect to use as part of a dipping sauce for dumplings, a marinade for chicken or tofu, or a salad dressing. It's also very good to use to finish soups, to give them a hit of brightness. If you like Asian cooking, this is a good vinegar to keep on hand.

I waited too long to buy this!
I’ve of course enjoyed black rice vinegar while eating out, but I never cooked with it before. I thought I could get by with soy sauce and regular vinegars, but I now realize how wrong I was. This has a distinct taste that makes a wide variety of foods taste better and more authentic.Of course the first thing I tried it on was noodles. And of course it was amazing! Next up were vegetables, specifically cucumber, eggplant, and mushrooms (not all together!) The vinegar adds the right amount of acid, with a little sweetness and umami flavoring. Finally, the true test was with pork, and it blew me away how amazing it came out. As soon as you try this once, you’re never going to go back. It will be a staple in your pantry for sure!My star ratings explained:5 stars = Exceptional. I recommend to friends.4 stars = Exceeded expectations.3 stars = Met expectations. Satisfied with purchase but not overwhelmed.2 stars = Failed to meet expectations but usable.1 star = Avoid.

Very Tasty
This vinegar has been good to add for cooking some Asian dishes but I also really enjoy slicing some ginger and adding to it as a dipping sauce for dumplings or other foods.

Great Dipping Sauce
This makes for a great addition to a dipping sauce for a variety of dumplings. It has a nice kick of the vinegar flavor that is a nice addition of almost sour to balance out the savory. Also is a great addition to a variety of Asian soups. A staple in Asian cooking.

Not hitting
Ahh.. unfortunately this wasn’t for me. It doesn’t really have the kick I was wanting. It isn’t too bad, but I definitely have to add more to get that vinegar kick for my dipping sauces.

good marinade
To be honest, I didn't realize this was going to be such a special product when I ordered. I just saw vinegar and we use vinegar for so many things that I jumped on it. After reading some reviews, one mentioned that it would make a good marinade with some honey, so I tried it. I used chicken, and marinaded it in this product along with a substantial amount of honey and some Umami spice. I let it sit overnight and it did break down the chicken a little bit and then I dumped it all in the crock pot and cooked while I was at work. I served it over rice and wow, it was amazing. I dont know what else to make with this, but it will allow me to get a little bit more adventurous in the kitchen.
