Mine doesnt keep going for a full minute. but it fascinates me. Im sure it can be explained to me but I dont care. Its just neat to watch.

I ordered this for my son’s office, hoping he would enjoy the simple yet elegant nostalgic desk décor – we had one of these when he as a youngster. It was well-packaged and well-made. I was impressed that the packaging managed to prevent tangling of the lines holding the metal balls. The wooden base is beveled and quite sturdy and attractive, while all the metal parts are shiny and solid. The only complaint my son has is that the balls are too small relative to the rest of the Newton’s Cradle. This results in the swing-time being much shorter than it would be if the balls were larger/heavier. It definitely does NOT have a 50-second swing-time.

This pendulum is so fun, but somtetimes it gets me into trouble. It can be so distracting so I have to hide it at times. I do think it is a great addition to my desk. It looks very nice.

I've always had Newton's Cradles at my various desks, thanks to my dad having one when I was growing up. His was great - the cables were wire, the marbles were heavy, and the kinetic motion would last for quite a while. Unfortunately as time has passed, they are now strung up with nylon cable and just have gotten cheaper over time.This Newton's Cradle was packed nicely, without tangles or damage to the frame. It looks solid, the wood and metal accents look great. However when you start it, it only stays in motion for less than a minute. Is it fun for the minute or so? Sure, but if you want the movement to last longer, I'd recommend looking for a higher-end product.

First of all, I have to say, this Newtons Cradle arrived packaged better than any item I have ever received, ever! The entire item was wrapped and each ball and string set was individually packaged.I like to get what I consider cool stuff to introduce to my grandson and this Newtons Cradle is way cool to him and my cat! The wood is smooth to the touch and the chrome is evenly applied. It's a great mind relaxer and a cool conversation piece.

I had one of these when I was a kid and that thing would go for 5 - 7 minutes without stopping. So when I saw this one I had to have it. The price is decent and you get what you pay for. Mine came pre-assembled and tangled. Once I got the fishing line all sorted out and the balls hanging right, the first swing had great promise but stopped shortly after 30 seconds. For that, I'm docking a star. You cannot expect a pendulum to go for hours but this one loses momentum on each strike. As a nostalgic toy, it's great though.

This item came packed extremely well. After getting it out of the packaging I was transported back to when I was a kid and my dad had one of these on his desk. I've always wanted one and this one did not disappoint. The construction is very durable and has provided me with many hours of simplistic mindlessness watching it do its thing.
