Cars today no longer have ashtrays. This is perfect for anyone who smokes and likes to travel. It has a butt extinguisher (grate) and 2 "Snuffers" (This is for those who put out a butt but want to re-light it again without damaging the butt, just put it in and give it a gentle twist) along with a grooved holder between the snuffers.For the traveler, the compass does work so if you like to "toodle" around and smoke this is perfect, providing you know how to read a compass.I've read the reviews about the LED light and read it lasts for a good long while so I'm curious how true that is.All this really needs to be totally complete is a built-in lighter. But I'm sure that feature will really cost. So for the price you really can't go wrong with this item.Update: The compass no longer works, constantly points north no matter which direction I go. Not really that important to me anyway.

Only had it a couple of days, but it is exactly what I was hoping for. The light in it is perfect. I knocked it down 1 star because of my short time having it. But so far I'm happy.

Bought this holder to use as an outside ashtray that I can store in my office. Got tired of using a brick/wall/floor to kill off my cigarettes and then having to look for a dustbin to dispose of the butts. Have been using it for about 3 weeks and so far I have not smelt any "escaping odors" from the ashtray. It seals up pretty tight. Very happy with the purchase. As a side note, the led light inside is extremely bright. You can probably use it as a flashlight! Only negative is the compass on the lid. Mine is a bit wobbly and does not really work. I will never use it so I don't really care.

So, I was basically “recycling” old plastic 12oz soda bottles (with a little liquid in the bottom) for this purpose so I could trap the smell of stale cigarettes from my car... This makes it much easier to dispose of my butts while driving (because of the wide mouth), but it really doesn’t offer much for extinguishing the cigarette, therefore more smoke is expelled through the cabin even after shutting the lid. LED light is cool, helps when driving at night to find your ashtray. Over all, it does what it’s supposed to do, I’m sure there are cheaper car ashtrays that serve the same purpose...

I liked everything about the unit the lights inside not outside, so doesn’t distract you the one thing I didn’t like is that I don’t think you can take the lid off. See you at the shake pretty good to get the cigarette butts out in the main thing I don’t like about it, is that the cigarette holder doesn’t hold a cigarette it’s too wide so your cigarette falls inside and to get it out it’s not likely if they would just make that cigarette holder the right size. That’s a nice unit. But I’m sending this one back.

Okay, it's an ashtray. But I've had it about a month and I love the size and the light. It fits perfectly in my cupholder with a coozie on it. Should be interesting to see how the light holds up and it is plastic so with the emptying it. Enjoy! If it continues to work well, I'll purchase another for on my lanai. The lid is catching on something already. When you try to open the lid, it feels like it's hanging up on something, if you keep lifting it makes a loud cracking noise and I'm afraid to use it now because it's going to eventually break. I should have saved the money and kept throwing my cigarette butts out the window. I would not recommend this product at all.
