Catch And Release [2007] [Region Free]

I very much appreciate Jennifer Garner, not only is she a beautiful actress, but she is able to convincingly portrayal sadness and distress (as well as a wonderful smile and laugh). I was looking for some easy going romantic comedy; and although there are comedic touches in here (great cast) it is quite moving. I enjoyed this film a lot.

This just scrapes in as a 4. (they should really mark these out of 10).Mainly cos it's not the predictable type of film from the background of...wife loses fiance, finds out he was 2 timing her, has to move out of house cos of money problems...etc.No...it could easily have made the gang of lads she is forced to live with (friends of her dead fiance) stereotypical...but instead opens them up to being more than...the overweight bearded daft one, the handsome womaniser, the loser, the mistress she didn't know about turning up to try and grab some money for the kid she has. You end up liking all the characters and accepting their flaws.Well I did anyway.

The characters are all stereotyped clichés, and the plot is a well trodden path. What a waste of Juliette Lewis. We are big fans of Juliette Lewis (Gilbert Grape, Kalifornia to name but a few of our favourites) but her career has nose-dived in recent years as she is type-cast as dizzy white trash b****, and shoe-horned into such as this.

It wasn't until I was searching on Amazon for random dvds that I could spend what little money I had on, that I found 'Catch and Release'. Now I must admit that when I was looking at it on amazon it looked rubbish and deathly boring and maybe quite old.When I eventually gave in and watched it I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole film! It's safe to say that this film is captivating! Jennifer Garner played her character in such a way that I felt everything she was feeling! I got butterflies and just couldn't look away! The comedy aspect of the film kept me highly amused and I really giggled at parts!Once I'd watched the film once, I watched it again every night for the next week because I loved it so much and got something new from it everytime I watched it!After watching it endlessly I bought more copies for my friends for christmas and they all loved the film almost as much as me!I highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a good old chick flick! Even if you're doubting this film because of how it looks I would urge you to give it a chance!!

From a sad event to friendship to a relationship. A group of friends mourn the loss of a friend as his secret life starts to unravel; only his close friend knows the truth and tries to soften the blow to the deceased fiancé. This leads to an unsurprising relationship between the two. A feel good factor along with some fun and romance

I was king of disapointed with this film, it sounded like a good romantic film but I couldn't get over the fact that Gray moves on with her life so quickly and easily after her finace's death. Yeah she may seem upset at times but didn't seem nearly enough as you would be, there is also a side bit of an extra couple of characters who I just couldn't understand how easily the others let them into their lives. The acting is good but all in all the storyline lets them down.

Als ich den Film zum ersten Mal gesehen habe, hatte ich mir an und für sich nicht so viel davon erwartet, doch er schaffte es mir ans Herz zu wachsen.Jennifer Garner spielt Gray, die ausgerechnet am Tag ihrer Hochzeit ihren Verlobten Grady zu Grabe tragen muss. Um sie in dieser schweren Zeit zu unterstützen sind die besten Freunde ihres Verlobten angereist, auch Lebemann Fritz, den Gray nicht ausstehen kann. Während Gray noch trauert, erfährt sie, dass Grady ein Kind hat und es seit Jahren finanziell unterstützt. Schockiert muss sie feststellen, dass sie den Mann, mit dem sie ihr Leben verbringen wollte, anscheinend doch nicht so gut kannte. Einzig Fritz wusste um dieses Geheimnis und bemüht sich um Schadensbekämpfung. Als wäre der Trauerprozess nicht schon genug taucht dann auch noch die Mutter von Grady's Kind auf und das Leben beginnt langsam weiterzulaufen...Obwohl am Anfang des Films eine Tragödie steht, driftet er kaum in Richtung Drama ab, sondern besticht mit ruhigen Szenen die den Charakteren Zeit geben sich wieder zu sammeln, sich neu zu orientieren und ihr Leben fortzuführen. Diese Orientierung, diese Adaption an die neuen Umstände ist für mich persönlich ein wichtiger Teil des Films und wird auch gut umgesetzt. Die ganze Stimmung des Films ist nach dem tragischen Anfang ziemlich ruhig, was den Charakteren mehr Raum gibt und den Film für mich sehr positiv hervorhebt. Die sich darin entwickelnde Romanze ist zwar vorhersehbar, aber ganz gut gemacht. Die filmischen Aufnahmen sind okay, der Soundtrack auch, sticht aber nicht besonders heraus. Zusammenfassend ein netter Film wie ein entspannter Nachmittag.

Ich liebe diesen Film! Ich habe ihn bestimmt schon 10 mal angesehen. Obwohl er ein sehr trauriges Thema, wie Verlust und Betrug behandelt, schafft er es auf eine wunderbar positive und gütige Art und Weise das Leben zu bejahen. Für mich ein sehr besonderer Film

Die DVD war leider defekt. Aber es war sehr fair vom Händler, den Kaufpreis zurückzuerstatten ohne dass ich die defekte DVD zurücksenden musste. So blieb einem dieser zusätzliche Aufwand wenigstens erspart.

Charmante comédie pas aussi nunuche qu'elle n'en a l'air! L'histoire est habilement ficelée. Et, sous des dehors de bluette, elle aborde avec finesse et légèreté des thèmes délicats, sans tomber dans le pathos ou la caricature. Les acteurs sont parfaits. Bon...Jennifer Garner n'est ni Meg Ryan ni Julia Roberts, mais Timothy Olifant est craquant à souhait et les seconds rôles sont superbes. Mention spéciale pour Kevin Smith, et Juliette Lewis qui campe une paumée "écolo-vétario-new-age" complètement allumée!De plus les paysages sont magnifiques! Il flotte dans cette histoire qui commence par une mort, un air pur d'amour et d'amitié. Un hymne à la vie!A voir et à revoir... surtout quand on n'a pas moral.

First time ever on a bluray disc I had to remove a lot of sticky residue remaining from removing the tabs used to seal the disc. Took me about 10 minutes. Thankfully I had Goo Gone.

Leider war der Film nicht so gut wie erhofft. Schade, hatte mich drauf gefreut.Es fing schon alleine damit an, dass sie auf einmal was mit dem besten Freund ihres verstorbenen Verlobten hat...

DVD integro ma la copertina è ridotta un pò un cencio...schiacciata, ha preso tutte le forme della confezione. Forse è stata spedita sotto a cose pesanti. Peccato perchè la spedizione è stata puntualissima.
