Great products, lots of engineering into the ingredients & the many scent choices that are not harmful. Many brands are not as described and smell to strong, like bad perfumes, or just plane smell like ass! Will be purchasing a lot more of their products.

The good:Firstly, I love this beard balm. This was my second purchase of it, so you know I liked it the first time! It is the right consistency for my somewhat coarse, medium length beard. It's not so oily that it provides too little hold and not so waxy so that it is too difficult to melt and apply to my beard. I am not a guy who wears a lot of scents, and I find that most beard oils and balms are very scent heavy, but not Yggdrasil. It has a light, bright scent. I would still probably prefer unscented, but if I have to have a scent, this is a good choice. It is slightly more expensive than the other brands I had tried, but after using it, I am definitely willing to shill out a few extra dollars because a good product is a good product.And for the problems I had:Now, I ordered this in the late spring, and we had an unusually hot week and as such about half of the balm had melted and dripped out of the container into the box. I typically try to contact the seller if there are any problems and Mad Viking did not disappoint. They responded within a couple of hours with a promise to send a replacement. Quick, fair customer service is how you build repeat customers (and the reason I chose to write a review).

My barber used some of their beard oil on me, and I loved the scent, unfortunately he was out of that scent so I bought their Ragnarok oil at my from him a few months ago. I thought I'd like the citrus scent, while not unpleasant it reminded me too much of Fruity Pebbles versus the what I thought it would smell like. Regardless, I was wanting to try the balm to have something that's a little stronger hold and I picked up the Balm in Mjolnir scent and love it! The scent is more heavy towards cedar and sandalwood, but with a slight hint of peppermint.I have a fairly short beard, but slightly longer at the chin (probably only 1/2"-3/4"). The balm helps add a little hold to keep some of the lose hairs a little better in place throughout the day, and I don't feel like my beard drys out and gets as itchy by the end of the day using the balm, as it did with the oil. I bought some wax from another manufacturer to try to use for more formal occasions; however, it required using a blow dryer to warm the wax enough to use. The Mad Viking Balm is great, because you can scoop it out without warming it. It feels a little gritty, but the friction of rubbing your hands together melts it down quickly and gives you some decent hold through the day.

Terrible chemical smell for me. However I contacted them and they sent me a different one at no charge. :)

Love the creaminess and the scent of this product! My wife likes the smell so that’s a plus!

Left a previous review in which I indicated my dislike for this product. After several weeks of having this sit around, it appears to have “firmed” up alot more than when I first received it. I have used this product a few times now and truly enjoy it! I normally use Reuzel but this is a definite comparison. Does not really have much aroma though so perhaps a drink deferent scent would suffice.

I tried several beard balms. Most have alcohol even though they claim they are all natural. Not this one! All natural that goes on very nice. Leaves a mild shine and not an oily residue. Calms hairs that are out of place. Just make sure to finish with wet hands over the beard calm those hairs sticking out. After a few uses i did end up breaking out. So be careful if you have sensitive skin.

My go to is always shiner gold and will probably remain that way. However, this definitely gives shiner a run for its money. It is easy to get out of the tin and application is even easier. It goes on so smooth and evenly. It is the right texture and softens in your hands. The smell is on point as well. I wish it was a little easier to find the descriptions of the scents. There are a lot out there and i would like to try them all.
