Updated from original review. The product does foam, but I had to wash with another product first to clean the beard balms off my beard. The first and second washes using Mad Viking did not foam on its own. When the beard is cleaner, and the Mad Viking Beard Wash is used, it's actually a very pleasant, light foam. The rest of the review stays.----------------------------------------------------------I am new to the beard experience, so take this from a 50 y.o. with limited product experience.Unlike most everything that washes hair, this does not foam. Maybe it cleans extremely well and conditions better than everything else, but I’m used to hair care products that foam. And like other Mad Viking products, the excellent fragrance smells like its masking something else. In this case - wax. Also, it’s very watery, not thick... well, because it’s #1 ingredient is WATER. I’ll blow through this beard wash within a couple weeks. I think I’ll be better off treating this like a conditioner and wash my beard with my shampoo first, then use the Premium Beard Wash.Positives- no doubt, the fragrances are great. The swag is fun.

This stuff is great! Love the way my beard feels, behaves and I have to beat my wife off me with a war hammer because of the looks and smell. I got Odin’s Rock which is supposed to smell like cherries and tobacco, which it kind of does. But I also can’t help but be reminded of Dr Pepper when I use this stuff. Definitely going to order the wash and wax again. But maybe next time I’ll be adventurous and choose a different scent. Although the scent I chose smells great.

My boyfriend loves this line now since purchasing this for him. I bought this for him to try and we have purchased the soaps, oils etc. It really does smell wonderful. It makes his beard yummy and soft too! He may feel like a viking man but he is a clean, yummy one with this stuff! Fit for any man who wants to be with the best of the Viking Gods. Your beard will thank you and probably your other half as well. (Hehe)

The smell of this stuff is really bad. Although the product does make your beard feel nice.....choose a different scent. This one smells insanely strong all day long, like and old timey barbershop, mixed with your grandfathers old musty closet and far too cologney.I emailed them and asked for a refund or exchange, and they didnt even reply. Up until that point......i was a huge advocate for this brand.

I was able to purchase 4 of the different beard washes and itd been hit miss so far.....as far as soften they all do the job great my beard feels clean everytime ....but some of the scents havent been as good as expected which is a big reason I switched to this company my previous beard washes smelled like toxins and medicines lol but mad viking does have a couple scents I really like so far and I will be trying more here soon over all great product just read the scent profiles and be sure its what u think ud like

This stuff is INCREDIBLE!!!! This company actually cares about its clients and gives you personal service. I feel like I could reach out to the owner and he would address my concerns if I had any....Go to their website and they have a sampler pack with all 14 scents so you can decide which ones you love....I bought beard wash and balm in 2 different scents and it is in no way overpowering like some of the competitors but it is long lasting....Amazing product and well well worth the price....I even got a sticker with my order which upped their stock even more....

This was my first Mad Viking purchase and I will be returning for future products. I’ve tried quite a few beard shampoos and while some of them have helped with softness etc. they have had a strong almost ammonia smell. Not this beard wash. Very good smell and not overpowering in the slightest. Will be trying more of their beard products in the future!

My brother and I like to girl our beards. Over Christmas he showed me this item and I was very impressed with the quality and scent. I bought odin's rock in the beard blam and beard oil as well. I will continue to buy this product.
