Good lock!
Unfortunately, this is not as super awesome as I thought it was going to be, and the description is misleading.First, it's a great lock. It does what I want it to do and I was able to install it on a gun cabinet that had a keyed cylinder lock. The problems are with the electronics that engage and disengage the locking mechanism. If the open/close lever is too far to one side, the unlock process does not free the latch. It must be SQUARE in the center with no pressure to either side. Second, every 10 openings or so, it does not re-lock itself. You hear the noise when it unlocks, but then you never hear the lock noise. If you're not paying attention, you will leave it completely unlocked. The only way to fix this is to enter the code again and wait for it to lock.Additionally, the item title says "3/8"-1 1/8" Spindle Length", but that's not true. It's ONLY 1 1/8". It does not come with the parts to convert it to 3/8" length. In my case that's not necessary, but it makes it sound as if you can adjust anywhere between 3/8 and 1 1/8 inch, when it's 3/8 OR 1 1/8 inch. Nowhere in between. The instructions say that if you forget the code, just release the top screw from inside the locker and turn the lock to one side, but that's impossible. You have to remove the entire lock. Additionally, how the heck am I supposed to get inside it if I forget the code? The answer is, you don't. That part of the instructions is completely moot, and I'm unsure how anyone doesn't realize it.The instructions are excellent, except that it does not come with the mounting template like it says it does. I still need to drill the hole for the top screw, but it has to be exact so I need that template. Not sure how I'll deal with that.Overall, a good device, but not perfect. For the price, it's perfectly reasonable.
