More More France Please: The Little Lusts and Secrets of Life in France

A real eye opener ......fantastic
Only knew authors name after seeing her on Rick Steins French DVD years ago... after searching for books about France this popped up.... as her name was familiar tried it and it does not disappoint..... well written factual and witty.... actually probably the best account of moving to France.... I won't ever move there but love dreaming .... and this was a real eye opener rather than the other mainly romantic books which although touch on real problems never actually drill down into what life could be like as a Brit in France..... highly recommend

Bit of a rehash
Given that HF-P has been away from the Languedoc for a few years, the age of this collection shows, with some of her info well out of date. It is basically a rehash of her Sunday Times articles interspersed with extra nuggets left over from her first book about the region.Having said that, Helena's style is never less than insightful and amusing, and hence it's worth getting, but don't expect the freshness and streetwise advice of "More France please . . ."

Disappointing
A disappointing and confusing read. The quality of the content is marred by the lack of quality in the editing. It becomes boring and tedious when words are continually missed out from sentences or are just plainly incorrect. Also, all monetary values are prefaced by an unfamiliar currency symbol - a small rectangular box - probably meaning Euros, but the editor did not bother to correct.
