18-8 Stainless Steel Percolator 3 Cup M-1225

I purchased the Captain Stag Percolator 3 cup to bring on a recent vacation. It was easy to pack in my luggage, made a great cup of coffee and was easy to clean. This would be great for camping as well.

When pouring the coffee into your cup, the lid opens up a little. I didn’t have this problem when I bought chinook three cup coffee pot.I recommend you go back and do business with Chinook.

I was looking for a small, non-electric, stainless steel and not aluminum coffee pot. This fits the bill perfectly. It will work for camping, during power outages, etc. I am so excited to have found a coffee pot that fits all my requirements.

The rim of the lid that goes on the filter basket is too large to go past the lid of the percolator so it lifts off the basket and grounds come out.

The media could not be loaded.  excellent little percolator. I saw some of the criticism that this item got on Amazon, so I was skeptical. But I didn’t see any of those issues when I received my product.When I open the box, I checked all the edges and around the rims, and I didn’t have any issues with it being too sharp. So that wasn’t an issue for me that some people might’ve had.The video I took was the very first time I use this percolator. I thought it worked exactly as it should with no issues. Anytime you use any percolator you’re going to get some residual, coffee grains. So if you don’t like that, then a simple fix would it be by some percolator filters.I think this is going to go great with my camping gear. I might take this to work occasionally.it actually brews more like a cup and a half of coffee.

This is so cute! No directions came with it, so.... A lot of guessing as to the amount of coffee and heat level and how long to percolate. The coffee came out pretty strong so I'll be experimenting. As we all know, in coffee world, a cup of coffee is often measured in 6 ounces. This percolator holds 16 ounces at the 3 cup level marking. I like about a 12 ounce cup. But with percolators, I find you have to have extra water in the pot because some of it boils off. So 16 ounces of water with 5 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee on an electric range with the flame set to high. When the coffee started percolating, flame set to 3 and percolated for 7 minutes. VERY strong coffee. Less coffee needed? Less percolating time? Lower heat? We'll find out.Update: 8-1-2024 After some testing, here's my recipe for making coffee. On an electric range. Fill percolator water level to 3. Put the percolator basket in the percolator. Add 1 tablespoon ground coffee, 1 tablespoon ground decaf coffee, and 1 tablespoon ground chicory. Put the lid on the basket. Close the percolator lid. Set burner to High until you see the perc! Turn heat to 2. Perc for 4 minutes. Take the basket out with an oven mitt. Close the percolator lid. Pour the coffee! Makes about 14 to 15 ounces.I also position the percolator so the wooden handle is not over the burner at any time.

Aesthetically nice. Holds 1 and 1/2 cups at best - nothing remotely close to 3 cups. The inside rim of the pot is a bit on the sharp side so hand cleaning the inside of the pot could be a painful experience. As an art object, 30 bucks is a bargain. As a practical peculator, I've had $10 aluminum ones that performed better. Small footprint is nice for RVs and Boats.

なかなか気に入ってます。

1〜2人用のパーコレーターが欲しくて購入した。おおむね満足だが、蓋が簡易な蝶番で止められていて、片手親指では蓋を開けるスピードを調整しづらい。油断すると、蓋を急にバタンと180度開けてしまったりする。両手を使えば問題ない。コーヒー以外に、普通にお湯を沸かすのにも利用している。お湯として利用する場合、中の器具は全部取り、満水の線まで水を入れて沸かすと、大きめのカップ麺（または大きめのカップ焼きそば）にぎりぎり足りるくらいの湯量になる。サイズが小さいので家庭用ガスコンロに乗せるとやや不安定だが乗らなくもない。コンロを安定させるミニ五徳などを置けば安心ではある。

妻がこれで淹れるコーヒーを飲みたがるようになりました。凄くおいしく飲めます。家でもキャンプでも使えますし、だいぶ便利です。こんな安く買えるなら、キャンプ用にケトルなんて買わなければよかった。

メーカーは鹿番長だかメイドインチャイナ(笑)外観の作りや仕上げは良いが中身のバスケットやストレーナーに若干のバリがある。本体のフタの蝶つがい的なものに不必要なアソビがありガタつくのが気になった。まぁコーヒーは作れるので許容範囲なのか？せっかくの鹿番長製品(ブランド)なのに中身は隣国クオリティとは、残念な感想。まぁ今の世の中、こんなもんなのか日本のプライドなんて過去のものなのか？淋しいねー
