Sweet Fable
I loved this story - finally a YA book where the female MC never does anything stupid and the male MC doesn't do anything to betray her - which seems to be the formula in these books. It's a great supernatural tale that weaves (what I believe to be) Native legends with modern twists. I thought Emma was awesome - she never gives up - she fights one of the villains who is probably two feet taller than her. She is tough. Amarok is an awesome wolf/man - you get his story mostly through his thoughts. Ms. Townsend is able to convey his character with very few words. The secondaries are quite good also.Despite what another reviewer said, there is an unequivocal happy ending. Spring is not that far off (read the book and see).We need a sequel, and Tok needs an iPhone.

Excelent!
I love this book because it's sad and also heart lifting to read. It describes the feeling between an animal and a girl white well. The feeling of being alone and finally finding someone else in their world who cares about each other. It makes me cry sometime when the girl realizes that the wolf might die at any time. I hope theirs another book in this novel. That would be really exciting.

A Unique Paranormal Romance!
If you are looking for a different type of YA that incorporates a unique setting steeped in shamanism and native lore, this is your book! Using the Alaskan wilderness, Townsend weaves themes of betrayal, love and overcoming the impossible to regain one's humanity in this suspenseful tale of a kidnapping gone wrong. Dual protagonists--a girl trying to escape both an abusive father figure and deep guilt over her mother's unfortunate death, and a boy trapped in the body of an Alaska wolf by an ancient evil that wiped out his family--find one another and discover something long lost for both: trust, friendship and love.

Amarok
Angela Townsend's writing is fast paced. It keeps you on the edge of your seat. She tells the story and sets the stage: Emma lifted the car keys from the hook on the wall, praying they wouldn't jingle as she crept across the kitchen floor. A floorboard creaked. She froze, peering down the dark hallway, her throat tight. Bedsprings squeaked, but her drunken stepfather didn't appear. The book never lost its fast pace. A fantastic read!

Great story
I was not certain I would enjoy this book, but it actually was very good with some suspense as well as a good story line that made you want to keep reading to find out what happened next.

Love Story
This story is now one of my favourites as it shows how love for someone can defie even great power. The love the 2 characters have for each other which seems to come from nowhere is truely amazing and I hope nothing like what happens in this book happens to them again as they certainly don't need to go through that sort of thing again. with other characters helpiing you get into the book, you will never want to but it down when reading it.

Refreshing
A nice read, something different than the usual thrillers or love stories. A little bit of everything. I would recommend this to younger readers.
