TECHGEAR DOT MATRIX VIEW Case fits HTC One M9 - Flip Case Cover With Auto Sleep Wake Function (RED)

First of all, this is a great case & I believe worth the money.In the looks department this excels, because I didn't want to hide the beauty of the M8 with a clunky case - this certainly looks the part.Hard plastic on the back and sides and rubber on the front, although not giving the phone fantastic protection, it will help a good amount in case of a drop.So let's talk about the Dot View, the main selling point of this case. When it works, it is extremely cool - You can answer calls, make calls to recent numbers, receive notifications, check time, weather and more with the case closed. All very cool and the first few days it worked a charm, however lately it seems a little intermittent - It may be because of the recent update to Lollipop, or more likely the front of the case not sitting exactly right.I've seen others with the problem and the solution is to give the case a little stretch and this seems to have helped - again it works most of the time but just be wary of this.Apart from that, I love this case! Which is saying a lot as I've never used a case on my previous phones.

Great case, some have complained it doesn't fit, although I've used it daily for 2 months now & it's in as good a condition as the day it arrived.Wanted a case that wouldn't add too much bulk to the phone but still offer some protection. This fits the bill exactly. Looks nice, is very thin, feels great in the hand and not slippery like some cases I've seen. The plastics used are of good quality. with a slightly 'soft touch' feel. Offers pretty good protection, especially against scratches on the screen.I don't normally use flip cases as you can't answer the calls but in this one you can! No need to do any installation or download any up, it automatically works, I assume it is build in the phone. And when you touch any button - unlock, or volume- the cover does a really cool effects. I didn't check if you can change what it appears sometimes skyscrapers, geometrical patterns,...Averall really happy!

I'm a bit of a geek & having had an HTC One M8 for 18 months was appalled with myself that I'd never tried the dot case features, all because the official case had been so expensive. Also, because of the rounded back of the phone I presumed a case could never look good, as that had been a complaint about the official version.This Techgear case is superb. Wow. My phone suddenly again looks supercool. There's a hard rounded back that fits perfectly and then the silicone/rubber front (love the tactile feel of it) lies perfectly flat over the phone. I like that the overall effect is still to leave you with a classy, slim phone.It fitted and worked perfectly straight out of the box. I've been using "premium" leather case until now and am much more a fan of this.The magnetic screen shut down works flawlessly when the case closes, but for instance if you're using web radio of any kind that continues to play.I'm a sucker for the dot matrix effects and have a nice space shuttle "live" background.You can see your alerts on the dot case just by tapping it. You can answer the phone without opening the case. You can even play a retro game with the case closed.I bought on sale for £6.99 against a stated full price of £9.99. It's definitely worth the £9.99 and probably rather more.

The original HTC Dot View case began to wear out so I bought this to replace it.If the cover is flipped over to the back, it turns the screen off so you can't watch video with the cover folded. The magnet plays up which causes the dot view display to become active when the cover is opened. To stop that I had to open and close the case a few times to get the proper screen back up. It protects the phone and doesn't do anything more than making simple tasks take longer.After a couple of days trying to get used to it, I've removed the case and won't be using it again. It's been a waste of money and not worth adding time to the wastage by sending it back.

After having various phones and cases for years I tihnk this is the best there is. It's a perfect fit, easy to go on and won't come off accidentally. It wraps around 90%e phone so it's pretty safe. It folds around the backs smugly and snaps shut very nicely. As a general case it's 5 stars.It's crowning feature is the dot view. If you have upgraded to lollipop there are a few new features from the last case. You can pause, play and skip music without opening the phone as well as see the song title. See the time, weather, temperature, date, answer/hangup calls, see basic notifications. You can even play a game (it's one for now but I'm sure more will be added). You can even create your own dot view themes from your own pictures.Due to the dots on the case however if you put this on a dusty/dirty surface it will pick up the dirt in the dot view which will go through to the phone. You then have to clean the outside of the case and the inside of the front flap as well as the screen. It would be impossible to avoid due to the dot screen feature though so it losses half a point. I'd give it 4.5/5 if I could. It's a bit annoying but it's definitely not worth overlooking this case.One thing I think could be added in future is a kick stand at the back so it stands up.

The one i got damaged the coating on my phone. It got small bits of something stuck between the back and my phone and left little holes in the coating. Not sure what the bits were or where they came from but i dont make a habbit of adding layers of sand to things!And the rubber starts to fall apart on the front.Apart from this its actually a good product, for the price it works and fits perfectly.Of course dot view is another great idea of HTC and gives you a combination of protection and functionality no other Phone on the market has.But never fear, the iphone 8 and GS9 will have something similer.....
