GREEN BAR 110g. MEDICAL INSTRUMENT GRADE Bovine & Silica free for cleaning, polishing and sharpening of MEDICAL INSTRUMENTS The Bolpol range of Buffing bars are polishing compound bars also called Buffing soap, are for use with a Buffing Wheel. The range covers every polishing stage from 1st stage cleaning & mark removal to final polishing to a mirror bright finish for a wide range of materials from Hard and Soft metals, Resins and Plastics, Glass and Wood. Each Buffing bar is formulated from different abrasives selected for its degree of hardness and particle grit size, combined with a binding agent to suit different materials. The bars are different colours for easy identification. These bars are graded with an abrasive rating number from 1 to 10 according to their degree of abrasiveness and a rating from 1 to 10 is also given to the level of shine that could be produced. The first number is called " The Cut " the higher the number the rougher the abrasive and the more stock (material) will be cut / removed from the workpiece. The second number is " The Gloss " or sheen, this relates to how much shine the compound will give, the higher this number the higher the gloss shine will be. 10/1 = Most stock removal / least shine - semi bright or lined finish 1/10 = Least stock removal / most shine - fully bright or mirror finish. Examples: Grey is 8/4. 8 means it's quite rough, 4 means it produces a low satin shine. Pink is 4/8 4 means its fine cut, the 8 means it produces a high gloss shine.
