Why do we eat? (Usborne Beginners)

Excellent range of books
As a Year 1 school teacher, I have used Usborne books before. They are some of the best books I have come across for use in the classroom. Well written and illustrated and very engaging for young children. They have all the features of non fiction texts so work well for teaching children about these features as well as the subject contained in the books. The books are also supported by appropriate links to different web sites. This particular book is excellent but would probably be best suited to a very able Y1 or any Y2 class.

Very helpful book
This book has been very helpful for my 4yr old boy. He has so many questions, and after a while it gets tricky answering them all. So I bought a selection of books on how things work, to read together. This one in particular has really caught his attention, we read it over and over, and talk about it at meal times (and during toilet visits!). It is simple enough for him, without skimping on detail.

Well written and very clear.
Really clear and well explained book which has been great for my KS2 aged son who has ASD to help him understand about healthy eating. Would recommend.

Nutrition Information
Just what I needed....precious little out there to explain to my kids WHY they have to eat different types of foods...protein, carbs etc etc ....this isn't exactly what I wanted but I still can't find anything perfect and this has gone some way to convincing them I'm right!!

Food for kids
Good as Usborne always are, this is a difficult topic for children and this explains it mechanically in illustrations. Not sure that children have much idea of machines or think of their insides as if they were machines. Good information for them if they do.

bought as part of set
This is excellent, really good illustrations and hopefully will encourage grandson to eat fruit and veg! Overall this set of three books is excellent. The size is good the print in clear and easy to understand and the books were reasonably priced.
