Double failure
Trouble. The first camera failed around 45 days. After days of troubleshooting over the net and phone vera decided to replace it. The turnaround was weeks. The replacement camera would not install the motion sensor, when tech support finally did get it to install it continually triggered. Adjusting sensitivity did not help. Now I’m waiting on my third camera. It is a nice camera when it works, but so far I’ve had no luck with them and vera’s Tech support is inconsistent at best.

Come on, Vera, you can make awesome stuff if you just try!
I purchased this camera via Vera directly. The camera has good image quality but is VERY limited with respect to features and options most users would want. I installed via wired connection on my house. Installation was pretty straightforward and the POE was a nice feature. I have been running the camera for a few weeks outdoors now. No issue but I will update my review as needed.Likes1) single cable install with POE connectivity was very nice and streamlined the installation for my home2) image quality appears to be good so far - crisp, good color3) the form factor is small4) it has a microphone that records sound when motion is detected.Dislikes1) motion detection does not have ANY configurable settings like selectable watch areas.2) the PoE adapter uses CAT-5 cable which is silly. If you care about network speed and have CAT-6 wiring this will annoy you3) the camera has a little green LED that is always on.4) the infrared illuminator in the camera seems to be nearly useless. It illuminates almost nothing in my driveway. Limited range is what I guess is the problem. my camera is 15ft off the ground but that seems reasonable to me.5) exporting video seems nearly impossible6) you cannot have the camera send video to a networked drive or location of your choosing7) you cannot adjust the recording length manually so you get the clips that you get when it records8) thru the vera controller there is virtually no configurability (e.g. turn off the annoying LED on the camera)Overall, i feel that this camera is of good quality so far, but in comparing to other cameras out there it seems to lack significantly in features for the price point. Lack of watch-box configurability, scheduling adjustments, motion sensor sensitivity, sound recording, or triggering by sound events, as well as video clip recording length are somewhat frustrating. Using the scenes in the vera controller has been pretty helpful, but tedious, to get the scheduling of user-configurable settings implemented so overall the camera is doing its job. If i could choose how these cameras would work i would include watch-box configuration, a better illuminator, sound recording, and probably adjustability on the motion sensing. It's worth noting that the motion sensing appears to be at the pixel level - if ANYTHING changes in the view it recognizes it as motion. This is good and bad, and i think a watchbox setting would improve this greatly. i've had the edge of a persons shoe passing by on the sidewalk (nearly out of view) trip the motion sensor. Impressive, but something that would be super powerful if you had the ability to define a watch-box area where motion is monitored vs. the entire field of view.

Works great
I had an earlier review stating to wait. Vera launched their new firmware and the camera now works and functions like a pro. Great pictures and great video in the dark. With my Vera controller, acts as a great motion sensor. MOST IMPORTANT: customer service stepped up and really worked hard to make sure I was happy with my purchase. Without their help, I would have a different camera and maybe not as good as the one I have.

Won't work with the new Ezlo controllers
Good luck pairing one of your older cameras with an Ezlo Plus, or Ezlo Secure. I had a TON of problems with the Vera controller, and thought that migrating to Ezlo would improve connectivity, operation, etc. Nope. Instead many of my WiFi devices don't work with it. Worst of all, the developers don't tell you (up front) that the new controllers won't work with the Vera Web UI, or the Vera MS Mobile App. They ONLY work with the mobile app on your phone. So plan on HOURS of frustration. I started investing a lot of time and energy with Vera, because I didn't WANT a subscription service. I'd been avoiding Simplisafe, but now wish I'd gone with them from the beginning!
