It is OK, Works with my Trane thermostats. Would not pair with my Schlage BE365 lock (really need the 469 level for any real usage). NOTE that if you buy the veraedge with vistacam classic package, you cannot record with the camera and I no find no way to get sound from the camera though the vera system. .

Looking for efficient home automation? Look elsewhere!
Previously, I paid a monthly fee for an alarm system with integrated Z-Wave controller, which uses alarm.com.In an effort to reduce my monthly bills, I decided to buy this product and cancel the automation portion of my alarm contract. What a mistake.-Pros-At first glance, the Vera Edge is very attractive. I like that it connects via wi-fi, which allowed me to place the unit in the optimum location. The casing is very small, and has a simple, neat appearance. When controlling your devices, you actually connect directly to the unit - This caused almost zero lag - controls are snappy, when they're working properly. I think this is where the pros end, and the cons begin.-Cons--Bugs. tons of bugs. Each software interface is full of them. -"Turn All On/Off" button for Lights arbitrarily picks which devices are lights. You can't set this button to include/exclude devices. The same button also usually does the opposite of what it says - "Turn All Off" usually turns any remaining devices on. -The same bug applies to door locks. If one is unlocked, and you click "Lock All", it will unlock the other door instead. -Layout of device controls is cumbersome to customize. The experience is also not consistent through desktop web, mobile web, and mobile app interfaces. - All user interfaces take up room with alerts such as "no security devices installed". These alerts appear at the top of the screen, and cannot be dismissed or hidden. You always have to scroll through them to get to any controls. - Scenes take at least 5 minutes to save, even if it's a simple one. Each step requires a spinning logo to appear and lock you out of doing anything for at least 1 minute. - Control of the HVAC fan can only be accomplished from the full web interface. It's not readily available, either. You must go into the device's full page to find the fan on/off control. You also cannot add the fan control to a scene. The scenes will only allow you to set temperature and cool/heat/auto mode. - Also on the HVAC - Don't plan on setting a schedule, as in alarm.com! There is no option for this. You would have to make a scene for each time that you want to change the settings automatically. Remember each scene takes about 7 minutes to add! - Adding a new device typically takes a couple of tries, and several minutes per attempt. - I had several scenes that I spent time creating, only to find that they would disappear, or fail to activate. - ***Customer Service*** - This is a huge one. -Sure, you can contact them about those bugs, as I did on multiple occasions. Don't expect them to care, though. The typical response is that I can set up my own scene, which will appear at the bottom of the page, instead of at the top. They don't seem interested that the button that they programmed is not functioning properly. - I contacted customer service about controlling the HVAC fan from my phone and using the fan setting in a scene. I was told to give them remote access so they could diagnose. I did, and the representative decided to add 2 scenes to change temperatures at different times of the day. Not only did she add the scenes, she activated them! Without my request or permission! - When offering them suggestions for such features as the HVAC schedule, I get the generic "thanks for being a customer" response.I really wish I would've gone with another controller. Please stay away from Vera! If you're really set on this unit, though, contact me and I'll make you a heck of a deal.
