I wouldn't recommend these for any serious player.
I was keen to try these but was so poor quality of the strings. They had a really tinny sound and did not stay in tune for longer than one song. After just one live setting, the strings were as flat as my usual Martin strings after a dozen live shows. They were cheap but that for me was a fatal mistake on my part. I won't be buying them again.

What lovely strings these are, and yet so little known. In my local guitar shop they hadn't heard of them.

Distinctive Sound
I consider Dean Markley strings to be first class - both acoustic and electric. The acoustic ones in particular produce a beautiful bright ringing tone, and are very durable.

If they are good enough for Ritchie Blackmore they are good enough for me.
Great Accoustic strings.

Great tones!
These vintage strings have such a rich and warm tone which doesn't falter from use that I found them to be perfect for an acoustic guitar. The quality isn't compromised by its low price making it an essential buy for all acoustic guitar players.

The worst strings ever ?
Strings were corroded - contacted John Weaver @ Dean Markley who assured me this was a one off and promised to send replacement strings as compensation. Guess what ? It wasn't & he didn't. Starrgoat replaced the strings which were also corroded. They then replaced them with different strings - full marks to them. Dean Markley did - nothing. So if you want a decent sound from your guitar - buy Ernie Ball's.

My guitar loves them...
I tried these strings some years ago on an Epiphone... kind of... meh ...On a Gibson... MUCHO DIFFERENT! These strings look and sound somewhere inbetween 80/20s and phosphor bronze. They perhaps lean ever so slightly more to the 80/20 side, but with somewhat more complexity in the tone. They just sound much more 'vintage' to me than regular 80/20s. Had them on a week now, I play quite frequently every single day, and they still sound good and recordable. My guitar seems to really respond to them.
