Things to consider when looking at the warranty period.
1) It will never last 12 years.2) Two years full warranty then prorated after that.3) Even if you show pictures of the damage, they will likely want you to ship it back so they can "inspect" it.4) The shipping cost for you to return it and for them to send you another is on you.5) They will invariably try to say you did something wrong that caused the damage and therefore, not their fault. So, these are just a few things to consider when purchasing a new cover and its cost.

Lasted a winter
This cover lasted at least one winter and I’ll use it again this coming winter. That’s more than I can say for the past two I bought on Amazon.

Good cover material, weak ratchet
Basically, it's a quality fiber-reinforced cover with metal grommets for the vinyl coated cable the securely wraps the cover around the pool using a hand-turned ratchet gadget. I'm happy winterizing our 18' round Intex with this cover except for the ratchet quality. We had a few issues primarily related to the wind gusts in our area. Without water on top of the cover, the wind would create upward pressure forcing the secured cabling to climb the exterior of the pool. The soft-metal ratchet that tightened the cable was tight as possible without breaking. To prevent the cover from climbing, 9 ground stakes were placed around the perimeter of the pool, and a light-weight nylon rope wrapped the pool in a zig-zag pattern tying the cover (through the cover's metal grommets) to the ground stakes. On our 18' round Intex pool, the stakes were placed at every other pole (and at angle closest to the ground.) This tie-down pattern helped to create enough resistance to the incremental climbing effect caused by the relentless wind gusts. This was last year, our first year.Unfortunately, we didn't properly store the cover over the summer. I'm guessing it was the lawn mower's exhaust muffler that burned a hole in the cover. The hole was about 1.5" in diameter, and I didn't notice the hole until the cover was draped over the pool. This was frustrating since I just dosed the pool with shock and algaecide. Anyway, I could reach the hole and managed to patch it using the rubberized Flex Tape (as seen on TV.) The tape was applied to both sides of the cover. Super sticky stuff. I wiped both sides around the hole clean, and then placed the rubberized Flex Tape on each side covering the hole top & bottom. The temp was about 45 degrees F at the time, and the cover wasn't totally dry when I applied the tape. But the tape adhered nicely -- I burnished the two sides together. If your cover has manageable tears or holes, it might be worth checking out the rubberized Flex Tape... as seen on TV.The next and hopefully final problem is the weak ratchet. The relentless wind gusts (we live near the Great South Bay on Long Island) put enough tension on the ratchet assembly forcing the ratchet's pawl pin out of the housing. As a result, the cabling loosened, and the cover draped into the pool. BTW, this happened the day prior to the planned zig-zag tie-down mentioned above. Until I locate a better ratchet, I'm using a mini C-clamp to keep the pawl & pin in place.Given a better cabling ratchet, I'd give the product 5 stars.

Very satisfied with this product
Purchased in 2019. Very strong and durable. Did not open pool last season to focus on other purchases around the house. The pool cover stayed on and stayed strong. I will replace this year when I close the pool but it is the best cover I’ve used yet. Most won’t last a year and this was lasted 4 with staying on all last summer as well. Highly recommended.

Best one I've bought in 14 years!
That time of the year to close the pool and protect it from the falling leaves. Also time to purchase a new pool cover as the last one had made it through two seasons. The pool experts at most sites indicate that if you get a pool cover to last more than 2 years, you did well; fact is, they are really not designed to last more than 2 years. You do have options, a 10 year, a 12 year, but never believe that it will last that long. This pool cover comes with a 2 year full warranty and then the rest is prorated (just replace it - don't expect to really use the warranty).Ok, so why did I give this one 5 stars? I knew what to expect and wasn't being un-realistic about the warranty. However, this cover has benefits over others I have bought in the past. Having owned our above ground pool for 14 years, that means I have purchased about 7 of these. What makes this one different? Well I have a 24 foot round pool and I use a 6' pillow in the middle. Typical covers have had a hard time covering the pool even though they stated that there would be 1.5 feet overlap. Throw in the pillow and the cover barely fit. This one has a true 2 foot or more overlap for a 24' foot pool; it also allows for an 18 inch drop in water, leaving plenty of material to completely cover your pool. I put the huge 6' foot pillow in the middle, covered the pool and was surprised, amazed and ecstatic that this cover covered completely. Now, read the instructions: Do no drain water off the top of the cover during the winter time (I always did this, maybe doing so contributes to weakening the pool cover). Their reasoning is, this protects it from the wind damage. Make sure your water doesn't drop more than the 18 inches (check).Oh, and the grommets seem to be more of them than others I have bought and everyone of them were in place (unlike others I have purchased where there were fewer of them and some of them weren't there. The only complaint is this. If they would box the cover inside out, it would make installation simple. I try to not put in on my deck (don't want to snag it) or open it on the ground (and get trash in the pool). So I opened it up on top of the pool, carefully unfolding it, but since it was folded with the outside on top, makes it very difficult; flip the initial packaging and this would be the perfect cover. When I take it off in spring, it will be folded outside in so that installation is a breeze!

Not bad. Lasted longer than expected
While it did not last 12 years.....Purchased in 2018 and this is 2022, it did its job well while it lasted. This is the first year it had a hole it in at all. And, i let the top of it fill with water over the underlying pool water to keep it from blowing away in the Oklahoma wind. I have purchased a 300$ cover in the past and it only lasted 1 winter, so for me, this is a bargain! Easy to put on and once i pump the water off the top of it, it's easy to get off. I also use their leaf net which really helps get the big particles off the top before i pump the water off. The leaf net is still going strong and i purchased that at the same time. Purchased a new cover, the same one, again today!

Worked very well for 2 years
Bought 18’ cover in fall 2020 to cover my 18’ pool. Worked perfectly in 2020 and 2021. It covers water surface and 2x5 pillow pretty well after lowering water halfway to about 9” below skimmer. I use lots of big plastic clamps to hold it to pool rim rather than the wire provided. It fills with rainfall over the fall which freezes solid all winter. I periodically adjust the clamps to reduce the pull on the cover and rim as it fills with water. In spring I siphon off the water before removing it. After both winters when I removed the cover the pool water was crystal clear and still smelled of chlorine. Not a speck of algae. Spring removal a bit of a challenge due to accumulated leaves and need to siphon off the water. This fall, preparing for 3rd winter, I noticed water is leaching through a thin patch. Since I don’t want to bother replacing it and starting over now, I will leave it in place and see how pool water turns out next spring. Will replace it next year, because as another reviewer mentioned, a fresh new clean one saves both time, energy and $$$ spent on chemicals come springtime. Overall verdict : worth the $98 for 2 years use. If it lasts a 3rd winter all the better.

Priced Reasonably
This pool cover is an adequate cover , similar to the ones that I have purchased in the past. After the winter passes I will see how durable it is. The winch used to tighten the cord around the diameter of the cover broke and I had to purchase another one from a nearby pool supply store. I am therefore skeptical about the quality of the cover but I'll see how it withstands the coming winter.

Crank was broken
Cover is fine but the crank seemed cheap. Was broken. Had to go buy new one. Besides the crank it was fine.
