Honestly, this is the only kayak brush gripper I've ever used, so I can't really compare it to others. However, I can note that it's effective.The jaws are strong enough to hold on to whatever they're attached to, even if the wind and/or tide are pushing your kayak rather strongly. If your grip strength is compromised (general weakness, arthritis, etc.) you might have some difficulty opening it all the way for attachment to thick branches, but if you can paddle a kayak, your grip strength is probably at least adequate to use this tool.For the most part, I think that this gripper will be used by those who fish from their kayaks rather than those who are just recreational paddlers with no interest in fishing. As a fisherman, I appreciate that I can use this device to secure my location without having to drop an anchor, which can scare away skittish fish like redfish and snook.I suppose the maker sells this product in a package of two because many kayakers don't do solo paddles, but for those of us who do kayak alone, it would be preferable to be able to spend less for just one gripper. However, that's really just an observation, not a complaint.

These brush grippers arrived on time and well packaged. The are strong, very well constructed, and grip well! I used these on my Bass Raider and they are perfect. I can attach them to tree branches or trees submerged in the water and they hold well. Also good for parking on shore and securing your small boat or kayak. I recommend these for anyone with a Bass Raider boat or kayak.
