4 Very Suspenseful Stars
This thriller started with a bang and didn't stop until the very last page. It kept me guessing until the end.SUMMARYThe story opens with the police knocking on Todd and Alice Campbell's door to ask Alice for some background information regarding the death of Howard Grant, her best friend Kat's husband. Howard had been found on the deck of his pool where he had apparently fallen to his death from a second storey balcony. Police were trying to determine whether the fall had been accidental or if foul play was involved. As the investigation progresses, police begin to question Alice quite aggressively, trying to decide if she knows anything that could help with the case. Was the fall an accident? Suicide? Murder? Was Kat involved? What does Alice know about it? Does she even really know Kat?The book flips back and forth between the present tense murder investigation and the history of Alice and Kat's friendship, starting from three years ago when they met at the airport and struck up this unlikely friendship.WHAT I LOVEDThis book checks a lot of my "what I love in a thriller boxes;"Fast PacedSuspensefulKept me guessingThings that are not as they seemCharacters who are hard to label and continue to surprise meTwists and turnsA jaw dropping endingI have been waiting very impatiently for this book to be available, I pre ordered it and was so excited to read it, hoping it would live up to the hype and it DID!!!!It was so darn hard to put down! I had to download the audio book so I could listen to it in my car as I ran my errands and shuffled my kids around. The ending blew my mind!!!!! Wow!WHAT I DIDN'T LOVESome of the descriptions went on too long and some of the side stories were unnecessary to the main plot. That was really about it. Everything else was very very good.OVERALLSo worth the wait. I highly recommend for anyone who likes domestic thrillers which are plot driven and move quickly.

Great Book!
What a fabulous book! Best book I have read in a long time, and I read a LOT of books on my Kindle! All the characters were so well developed, and realistic. The fast moving story keeps you guessing and the ending TRULY blows you away! (I never, never saw it coming). I have already made a note of this author's next book release and am looking forward to it. I sincerely hope she keeps writing in this venue. Very, very talented writer!

Engaging and Well-Paced, but Not Convincing Enough
I love reading psychological thrillers. And I've read some ridiculous ones, really out-there-ones. And some of them actually still worked brilliantly because of the way that the author paced it and framed it, and because the characters made sense. This one, I would say that everything worked except for the main character. The author didn't really "develop" her as much as she thought she did, in order for the whole story to really work or be convincing, even though the main character is the narrator. She just was too flat and one dimensional, and I personally didn't feel the complexity of her character enough to buy the whole story or the plot. That's why I won't give it five stars even though I really enjoyed reading this book. I recommend that you read it, but all in all, I didn't really buy the story.

Couldn't Stop Reading!
I really enjoyed this story, as it was one of the those that was hard to put down. I kept reading page after page, because I was just so caught up in it. It was more because of the way the author writes than what she writes, if that makes sense. The plot wasn't the most action-packed and you pretty much get the gist of the main characters soon enough, but because of how she spins the tale, you keep reading. The only thing that nagged at me afterwards was the document that Alice typed up and gave to her lawyer. Unless I missed something, we were never told what it contained. Yes, she told Kat what it was, in theory, but not the details of it. I don't want to give anything away, so I apologize for the vagueness! The only other slight issue I had was that I kept thinking how naive Alice was written to be, yet that clashes with the ending of the story. If you are such a logical person and keep being presented with evidence of someone's true nature you wouldn't keep tossing it aside because of how you feel emotionally. It just doesn't pull together quite right at the end, is what I mean.Still, I really loved the book and I can't wait for the next one, which I will snatch up right away!
