Sly Profit Full Camo Goggles

Great Mask - Worth the cost!!
I started playing paintball earlier this winter (it's now April, and spring has sprung in the Midwest), and I was getting extremely frustrated with cheap goggles that would fog up once I started moving around on the field. Many of the cheaper, non-thermal masks will do a great job protecting your face and ears, but the lack of thermal coating can lead to dangerous fogging. Not everyone will experience fogging at the same rate as the amount of moisture and heat that the skin can produce varies from person to person. I happen to have a hot face, and my old JT mask would frequently fog in the middle of a match. This was my main motivation for getting a high quality, thermal lens mask.PROS:After several hours running around the woods in 70 degree weather with a long sleeve shirt and a bandana on my head, the Profit lens didn't come close to fogging up during any matches. There are less expensive thermal masks available, but I didn't want to take a chance. I chose to get a Sly because of their reputation, and I liked the look and color options better than the Dye i4 lineup. I purchased a camo mask with a black bottom for better woodsball concealment. The fit from the double strap design coupled with the extremely soft padding makes for a supremely well fitted and comfortable play experience. I thought that having a larger head would be an issue, but I actually had to tighten the bottom strap down quite a bit to make sure the bottom side of the eye padding stayed tight to my nose. This shows that Sly takes those of us with big noggins into account with their mask design. The soft ear foam also didn't deaden outside noise as much as I thought it would, and I could still hear my opponents moving around through the brush very well. Just make sure the ear holes are centered over your ears properly, and you won't have problems. The wide lens provides a great field of vision that preserves as much peripheral vision as a mask can, and I didn't notice any tunnel vision effect as I was moving around the field. As with any goggle, though, you can't see below your nose well without tilting your head down more than usual. Removing the lens is also quite easy as long as you follow the instructions which makes cleaning very easy.CONS:The Profit doesn't offer much forehead coverage due to the lack of a visor, but a headband or bandana solves that problem. Also, since this is a low profile mask, the vented sides don't offer any neck coverage, and it may be necessary to wear a neck guard to protect this sensitive skin.Smaller vents on the rubber underside of the mask mean that paint is less likely to end up in your mouth or on your face, but it doesn't allow for very good air circulation. It also muffles your voice a bit which means you will have to shout louder so others can understand you.The gradient lens that comes standard with the Profit is great for reducing glare for outdoor paintball, but the reflective surface is very prone to scratches. After a day in the woods, small branches and sticks left a few scuffs and scratches on my lens, but that is better than having scratches on my eyes or face. The coating on the outside is also difficult to clean without really buffing it well with a microfiber cloth if your opponents are using oily paint. It's not as obvious with clear lenses. The chin strap that comes with the mask was really too short to be functional for me, and it didn't sit in a spot where I felt it provided any benefit. Luckily it was easily removable, and I didn't have to take any hardware to the mask to release the straps.Overall, the Sly Profit is an excellent mask for those that don't mind a low profile goggle design. I don't know that it improved my game, but it was definitely a huge upgrade to not have to alter my breathing or deal with mid match fogging all of the time. No mask is completely fog proof, but keeping the lens clean, and checking the coating by breathing directly on the inside of the lens between matches to check the integrity of the coating will make sure you don't have issues. If you get a defective lens, don't use it until you get it replaced.Sly also recommends replacing the lens once per year, but I'm sure you don't have to go that far as long as you don't use cleaners that contain acetone or alcohol which will damage the coating on either side of the lens. I personally used a few sprays of clean water, and a very soft cloth to clean mine, and it is still fine. Do replace it if there are any visible cracks around the seal that connects the two layers of plastic though. Once it cracks, the seal is broken, and then you may have fogging between the two layers.I recommend this mask to anyone who likes woodsball or speedball. Great mask, will/would buy again!!!

Conformable, light weight, huge field of vision
I love this mask. Conformable, light weight, huge field of vision, really what more can you ask for. I know most people say buy the Dye i4, and i will say that is another great mask. But the i4 is a bit on the small size and if your someone like me who has a descant sized head you'll want this extra protection along your chin and jaw line. That is a big bonus to thins mask, It will protect your whole face. I have seen people complaining about the padded ears on this mask, about how you can hear anything while wearing it. That's just untrue. I had no trouble what so ever hearing when wearing this mask, in fact i love the ear padding. Anyone who has ever been shot in the ear can tell you why.

AWESOME MASK!!!
I've been playing paintball and airsoft since I was around 12, I'm 21 now and stil an avid player.I've used a lot of masks in my day Dye, VForce, Proto, JT, Save Phace, Empire, ect..the only problem i had with this mask is the lens that came with it had the piece of cellophane between the outer lens and the thermal layer. so it mad it fuzzy and just plain unusable.. but i was gonna get a clear lens any way so it all worked out in the end. the chin straps are easily removed. there are 2 little pins that hold them in on the inside right behind the goggles. i find the chin straps more than annoying.. ive already recommended this.Dye i4s are small and the padding isn't nearly as good as the Sly Profit. idk why anyone would spend more $20+ more on an i4 when other than than the looks they're no where close to this quality..buy it you wont regret it

Love the mask but the lense is not tinted like ...
Love the mask but the lense is not tinted like it shows; it’s clear. Still ok but I can’t breath with this on. I had to open the holes to help with that. I bought a different mask on ans website for half this price for my son. It’s way better than this and the breathing holes are a bit bigger. If I would have seen that one I wouldn’t have bought this.

One of the best
Yes, these goggles are expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. I have played paintball for close to seven years, and I've come to find that how comfortable you are on the field directly correlates to how much you will actually play. If you buy a cheaper goggle system, it's going to have cheap uncomfortable foam, a cheap frame, and an even cheaper lens (which equals fog). I have never played with something so comfortable as the Profit. It has the nice dual strap system and heavy velvet padding inside for the ears and face. It's also got great coverage for the face compared to the Dye i4 (which is also a great mask, just less coverage). I just played this last weekend and the thermal lens never fogged. It worked great and it looked great. The only bad thing I have to say about the system is that the stock lens is not entirely dark, and you can easily see through it from the other side. Sly calls it "gradient" meaning it starts dark at the top and turns clear near the bottom. It worked good for the sunny day that I played on, but I think an entirely dark lens would be better. Luckily, Sly replacement lenses are available here on Amazon, and in a variety of colors, including smoke, which is entirely dark.Even with the lens, I give everything about this system 5 stars. Go try it on at your local paintball store. You will not be disappointed.

Double Straps and lots of Padding!
One of the best Paintball Goggles out! Really comfortable to wear! Double straps keep the mask secure on my head! They used a suede like material instead of foam! The only con is that the padding which absorbs a lot of sweat and the padding on the ears is a little much, which muffles a lot of outside sound, but I absolutely do not fear getting shot in the side of the head. May not be good for anyone with a large head. The red isn't as metallic as seen in the picture but I hear there is a metallic red that the paint started chipping. Mine is made of red plastic.

Awesome
Well the few times I had it, it work very well not fogging. Durable shoot at several times by airsoft guns, paint ball and bbs. But it was stolen after a few months that I had it. I was very heartbroken because it was really conferrable.

Erstes Spiel - erste Begeisterung
