They do soak up water.
Love these sacks! You can tell where they have soaked up any water. Worth the price.

Peace of mind!
Bought this as a move in gift for a family member. The product is easy to use and performs as advertised.

Not as advertised
They do not shrink back to flat after you use them, they also leach water the whole time so if you are blocking a doorway with these bags you need to put a tarp down to block the water from these bags.

Won't dry out!
Note: I purchased a pack of 10 directly from StormTec, not through Amazon, but they do not have a place on their website for reviews.I bought these with high hopes! Our initial plan was to use them inside two sliding glass doors that water comes under when rainfall is too much for our terrace drains to handle. We used a couple for that purpose once and they seemed to work pretty well. We used all 10 that we purchased to weigh down a large outdoor umbrella stand. They didn't absorb water as quickly as StormTec claims - we had to soak each one for about half an hour to get them full. They seemed to dry out fairly quickly when they were in use, so we had to continually add water. Once we no longer needed them, we laid them out in the sun (full, hot, Caribbean sun, with temps in the 80s) and after weeks, they are still heavy and wet! We lay them out on the driveway at the first sign of sun, then bring them in if rain is approaching. I don't think these will ever dry out!
