REFRESHING
Having checked out a number of the westerners and to close up and return Necessity. Sometimes the stories seem compelling, by alas the discouraging and disgusting content makes them unreadable. This is not the case with High Country. Laced with a considerable amount of disgusting on of the aftermath of some serious violence. However the redeeming passages that follow surely show the feelings that Cade is saddled with, making the story come th life.

Average
The sentences are often poorly formed. And once in a while a sentence seems to further where it was going and ends before a verb appears. Taking a little more care with the writing could fix that. The main character grins when he sees a sign for a town, or a deer while he's hunting, or his fishing pole. Every other page has him grinning at something while by himself in the wilderness. That's just not normal -- nobody grins to himself at random things unless they have mental health issues. I'm puzzled why the author did that. Of course, this is the first book in the series, so maybe the writing will improve. But some of this poor writing seems to come from a strong habit, an entrenched pattern.

Great book
Always look for B.N Russell books. Love his stories and this book is one that I really enjoyed. Cord was left an orphan when his home was attacked by renegades. At 19 years old he left the home of the family that taken him in to find the men who had killed his family.

Another book that draws you in from the beginning and holds you fast until the very end. You are an exceptional writer. I have loved all your books. Packed with action, suspense, happiness, sadness, bravery, etc. I am waiting for your next book in the series. I also love the wholesomeness and Christian values.

great western adventure
Rundell painted a beautiful picture of the old west. Danger, romance, tragedy and joy keep you highly engaged. Great job!

no page numbers?
Mr Rubdell I’ve read and enjoyed several of your books, some under another pen name.My only complaint, with this one, is the lack of numbers— pages read and length of time to the end.

High Country
Looks like the beginning of a new series. Cord and Bird make a great traveling couple and it’s good to see both complement the other while still keeping their respective individuality. It’s apparent that their is a budding romance occurring but since both come from different cultures and yet have similar backgrounds, they are building the trust, spirituality and love any new relationship must have for longevity.
