Nong Shim Hot and Spicy Noodle Soup, 12-Bowls 3375

So...I have taken a liking to Korean dramas and in these programmes they are always eating noodles and kimchi.So was happy to find these here...at first they were SPICY but after a few bowls (not on the same day) found them to be really tasty.You get a lot in the bowl and cam adjust the spice levels by how much of the seasoning you choose to add.We have had several boxes now and despite trying other flavours this is our favourite.Definitely going to visit this country when we can travel again...think I was meant to be Korean haha

I have to be honest, when these were delivered to us my husband laughed so loud calling me crazy and wanted to know what would make me order a dozen of cup noodles online. Now he Knows!!!Ilike the taste its a good savory snack when u dont want to have a big meal. Its spicy/sour/cabbage (kimichi) flavoured which we dont mind. I have been eating this since long time now still cant get enough of them. My husband is loving them too, he eats them with lettuce and makes his own recipes now.

The flavour was great the heat was relatively mild compared to what I expected, its a polystyrene bowl so be careful not to crack it but it keeps your hands safe whole handling the bowl with its boiling contents, the broth was just that not thick mildly spicy. Overall very filling would recommend as a warm and quick option for a work meal.

Tried noodle soup bowls some years ago in Korea. When I saw them back home had to get some. I was not disappointed. Hot and spicy, perfect to drop a few meatballs in. Not for the faint hearted quite peppery.

My all time favourite soup! The flavour is to die for! I love everything about it! Easy to prepare too! Very convenient! I still can't believe it doesn't have meat in it!

I’m not sure what substance they put in the soup but it is highly addictive. This is the third time ordering. Few weeks ago they ran out of stock and I had experienced withdrawal symptoms (joke btw). I love the flavour, it leaves a satisfying burning on my lips and down my throat. It depends on your tolerance, i finish it fairly hot. Please stock a fair amount, cause i will definitely keep buying

Not really to my taste... They are a bit too salty for my liking and the flavour isn't as good as another flavour and noodle I got from this brand previously. The bowl is also very flimsy and breaks easily. Saying that, I gave some to my brother and he really enjoyed them. So I guess you should just try them for yourself as you may like them? :)

Not as tasty as Nongshim instant cup noodles. If you like something milder, I’d go for this one. The cup noodles are far spicer but much tastier imo.Also just my preference, but I initially poured water into the foam bowl provided but it seemed like I could taste the plastic. Started making the noodles in a separate bowl after and tasted fine.

Está súper bueno. Pica bastante pero es un picor agradable. A mí en lo personal me gusta hecharle un poquito de limón. También tiene más cantidad que otros y sacia bien.

So I am going to include a lot of details here.How I bought this excellent product==========================Before I go on further, a little background about myself: I am an Indian living alone in Germany. It has been my desire to eat like a German from the beginning and so I never put any effort in procuring or making Indian food in any way. In about slightly more than the 1 year that I have lived in Deutschland, I have never been to an Indian restaurant. So I have eaten brezens, semmels, croissant and all the Italian and Bavarian dishes(yep, I live in Bavaria) with the most scharf dish being the Falafel doner that I buy after asking the vendor to make it "extra scharf". I buy it when I crave for something hot and spicy. But the scharf Doner is just that - a scharf doner. The "Scharf"-ness is not IN the doner. It is just added as a garnishing. They don't mix. Like the Spaghetti al-arabbiata or the Farfalle Carbonara. The taste of each food component is distinct.One day, while taking a short break from work by shopping on amazon.de, I started looking at the Angebote section. I had been craving for something spicy and wanted to avoid the Doner. And I found "NONG SHIM Instant-Cup-Nudelsuppe, Kim Chi Sabalmyun, 12er Pack (12 x 86 g)" in the Angebote. I had never heard of Nong Shim or Kim Chi or Sabalmyun in my life. Quick Googling and reading through the results revealed that Nong Shim is South Korea's largest noodle manufacturer which is present in more than 100 countries! And Sabalmyun is their best selling noodle brand!Then what is Kim chi? A completely vegetarian combination of... vegetables? At least that's what the ingredients said. Wikipedia said, "Kim chi... is a traditional fermented Korean side dish made of vegetables with a variety of seasonings. It is often described as spicy and sour." A South Korean brand of spicy and sour noodles being sold in Germany. Not at all surprising in this time and age. So I decided to give the 12 pack a try. Besides it was on an Angebote and the price was a bit lower. :-)Notes on making the noodles=====================I have always been a noodles fan. While in India, for a long time, Maggi instant noodles were my favourite fallback food whenever I felt bored or just wanted a different taste. Recently Nestle had a bad time in India because the administrators found lead in Maggi noodles which led to Nestle incinerating whole stocks of the noodles in Cement factories. Not that there is a dearth of instant noodle brands in India. Maggi was the only one for decades, but over the last several years, several brands popped offering tasty alternatives. But I digress.I believe that news about Maggi in India spurred me to look for instant noodles in Germany. Having a strong desire to eat only vegetarian food, I had avoided the noodles in the Supermarkets since I could only find "Hahnchen" or "Bolognese" or some meat-based flavour on the shelves.With a lot of apprehension and a little hope, I tried the ""NONG SHIM Instant-Cup-Nudelsuppe, Kim Chi Sabalmyun" on the day it arrived. The packaging was great, the instructions were lucid and the process of making them was simple. In other words, the making was "einfach, schnell, und günstig".A tip on making: If you have a smartphone with a timer, set a timer to 4 minutes, and close the cup, till your timer finishes! If you have Siri or Google Now, just saying "set a timet for 4 minutes" is enough. That way you don't have to worry about over- or under- cooking.Taste and other senses=================It is said that we start eating before we put our food in our mouths. The expectation of nourishment makes the body produce the necessary fluids for assimilating that nourishment. But that is only expectation, which is in the brain.The real thing starts when we smell the food. In India, especially in the place I come from, the biryani is judged by its smell. By its smell, you come to know whether1. IT will be just another input to your bodily needs, or2. IT will ensure that it alone is enough to relieve the boredom of the daily grind, or3. IT will elevate you, give you NirvanaWhen I opened the first ever cup of "NONG SHIM Instant-Cup-Nudelsuppe, Kim Chi Sabalmyun" after waiting for the boiling water to cook the contents in the foam container, and smelled them, I knew that they were enough to relieve to boredom of the daily grind.When I tasted my first mouthful after twisting them and blowing on them to cool them a bit, I knew that they had elevated me. I knew that they were enough to attain Nirvana in Germany.When I finished eating them, with fluids overflowing from my eyes and nose and nearly all sweat glands, I knew that "NONG SHIM Instant-Cup-Nudelsuppe, Kim Chi Sabalmyun" will not be enough to satisfy my bodily needs. Sadly so.Just 86 grams of noodles is not enough for a full-grown man to eat as a meal. But then, these are cup noodles, which means that they are a snack, not a meal. I ordered another 12 pack right away.Epilogue=======Spicy AND sour sums up the taste pretty well. Knowing Germans from Bavaria, I don't think the average German will like the sharp and tangy taste of Kim Chi. But it is THE taste that brought me memories of so many things in India. I'll mention only thing here: The Kim Chi Noodle soup has enough punch in it to drive-away most colds.Hats off to Nong Shim for making this excellent product, and to Amazon for a great offer.
