500 Figures in Clay Volume 2: Ceramic Artists Celebrate the Humane Form (500 Series) Paperback – 4 Feb. 2014

Great range of quality images of inspirational ceramic based pieces.Work ranges from traditional figurative busts, to bizzarre mixed media constructions, surreal sculpture and installation. Features mostly artists from the US, with a smattering of European artists including myself, Pea Restall based in Wales, with my installation "26 Feet" (page 404) which was exhibited in The Santorini Biennale, Greece.Biographical information very brief, but excellent as a resource book to showcase part of the worldwide current ceramics scene.

Not one of the best in this series - as figures should be viewed as rather a 'loose' term (in my opinion). Some images appear a little disturbing..

This book isn't up to the first book and for my liking far to many childish cartoon style ceramics. The ceramic forms on the front cover is about the best the book has to offer. It's part of my 500 collection but I'm guessing it won't get much thumbing!

From the macabre to the down right bizarre. Some very strange figures here. Was hoping for something a bit more inspiring.Should be called 500 bizarre figures.

Stunning from the first page to the last. The book is smaller than I expected (8* square) which I am sure is written somewhere and I didn't notice. I ordered 5 more of these '500...' books on the spot. These are fat satisfying photo books with clear beautiful photography of every work of art.

A truly wonderful collection of exquisite clay works that are sculptures in their own right. All the works are so beautiful and greatly inspiring by amazing artists. Great variation in all the images which is a really special thing.A deliciously thick book that doesn't fail to delight in so many ways. The book introduces you to so many truly creative and clever artists and of course gives details and sizes of the works which is very helpful.If you are looking to be inspired by a huge variety of amazing artworks, then this is the book for you.

Also dieses Buch muss ich gut finden! Immerhin ist eine Skulptur von mir drinnen. (Aber - um meine Objektivität zu beweisen - ich hab auch das Vol. I von 500 figures in clay und ich liebe es, genau so wie 500 teapots 500 bowls 500 pitchers 500 raku,... einfach wundernbar!)

Dieses kreative Buch kann ich nur jedem wärmstens empfehlen. Ganz verschiedene Stile und viele Anregungen für kreative Köpfe. Bin begeistert!
