Strong, strong, strong!
I've used connectors from Danger Buddies before and learned to trust them completly. This one continues the quality build. I use it with a BlackRapid harness and it's perfect. The thick rubber washer ensures a strong connection with the camera and the swivel loop is easy to clip to and just works well. Even with a full-frame DSLR + 70-200mm attached, there was no apparent strain. A solid little performer. I'll get a few more to attach to other gear. These are great! Highly reccomended.

A very sturdy carabiner clip
Not only does this feel solid and sturdy, but it also has a rubber grommet in between the clip and the camera when screwing it in, to prevent damage to your kit. Once screwed on, this is not coming off by accident. Very reassuring.

Heavy Duty
I want to attach a wrist strap more securely to my camera. This tripod mount D-ring adapter screw is exactly what I need. Made of stainless steel, it's very strong and sturdy. When I ordered it, I didn't know how big XL D-ring is, as there is no dimension information on product description page. It turned out to be 1" wide. That's way too big for the 7/16" strap.

Works
This thing works really well, but remember if you put it on the bottom of your camera you won't be able to set it down flat anymore. It's sturdy and easy to install, feels great with a wrist strap (especially if you're not super confident in your camera's included wristlet holes).

Outstanding quality
This is top-notch. The metal is sturdy—even a little bit heavy for its size. The rubber pad is a nice touch that will protect your equipment from scratches when you mount this ring. I just loved it; it's exactly what I wanted.

May be fine for small, inexpensive gear
This adapter has a significant flaw (at least on my cameras) that is a show stopper for me. This D-Ring adapter comes loose very easily. My cameras have a ribbed surface on the bottom where the tripod mount is. The small gasket does not grip the ribs very well. I have a well known brand sling strap that attaches in a similar fashion as this adapter. It stays tight much better than this adapter. I think this is due to the strap adapter having a larger surface area contacting the bottom of the camera. Or the strap gasket is more “grippy” and/or it is softer and maintains pressure between the camera and D-Ring through a greater rotation angle before becoming loose. Whatever the reason, this D-Ring adapter comes loose way too easily for my use with expensive camera gear. This D-Ring is rated at 20 lbs with a failure rating of up to 600 lbs. The camera/lens combination I use the most weighs 6 lbs. I am not comfortable trusting $5K+ worth of gear with this D-ring adapter. It would be fine for a smaller camera/lens combo or other lighter objects like binoculars. The one thing I like about this D-Ring adapter is the ring part is big enough to easily hook on a large carabiner. This may be fine depending on what you want to hang from it. For me, I will stick with a much bigger, beefier adapter.

Secure mounting option
I’ve been using Black Rapid straps since 2014 and have had all sorts of attachments (my favorite are the collapsible ones that work with tripod mounts and fold away). I wasn’t sure about this mount when it first arrived, but I’ve since took the plunge and used it to hold my R5C complete with battery grip and cage for a few shoots, the longest of which was a two and a half hour beach shoot, and I never had any worries about anything breaking free. The larger clip makes it a lot easier to get your strap on and off and makes for easier screwing it into the camera (or in my case, cage). Definitely a safe and secure attachment that has earned my trust.

DANGER, indeed!
This has a serious design flaw! The other "sling" style attachments I have all rely on a screw that is separate from the "base" so that when you screw them into your camera (or whatever you're going to run a webbing through) the rubber pad is squished by the compression of the screw. This acts like a spring washer, in keeping the screw (and plate) from coming out, and the friction between the pad and the camera plate keeps the clip from rotating. In this clip, the rubber pad twists with the clip, so that you cannot synch it down tight enough to keep it from unscrewing! So—I cannot recommend this for carrying a camera. I could see carrying something that could withstand being dropped form however high you are carrying it.It's a shame—there are several things to like about this clip. It is well made, and heavy enough to have the weight rating that Danger Buddies claim. It's very easy to tighten (and loosen) by hand—no need to fumble for hex keys, etc. I like how large the loop is—most of my 3/8th inch webbing connectors fit through this, and I'd imaging some 1/2 inch connectors would also.I'm glad I ordered just a single unit of this.
