Effective at holding thin and thick stones, great non-slip. Must have for stone users
I've used varieties of whet stones and have at least a half dozen. Something that I've always struggled with was securing the stone on a counter or table top. I've always used a wet washcloth. Yeah, it kind of worked, but I never really knew about these kinds of stone holders until watching some sharpening videos. This unit is very quickly adustable to practically any size that most of us will ever run into. It firmly grasps the stone. I have one stone that I was concerned might not work, since it's a relatively thin double sided diamond stone--about 1/4" thick. The holder still holds this stone properly without getting in the way of the blade during sharpening. If you use stones and haven't found a good holding system, this unit won't break the bank and you'll wonder how you ever went without it. Good construction, quality material, and non-slip.

Great product
Bulky product, so it feels strong and stable. The rubber is grippy, so you can also use it straight on a table easily. The tightening things are easy to tighten and loosen.I like this product a lot.

A entry level must have for whetstone/waterstone sharpening for knives
Holds your stones for sharping. Easy to use and small footprint. Affordable. Does it well. The ONLY issue I have is that the threads are rust prone compared to the rest of it. Contact areas between the rubber and rods are also places which water can have stronger adhersion may have leave slight water spots/rust marks. HOWEVER the rusting on the threading doesnt really affect function until it gets realllllly bad but I havent gotten there yet and I have had this thing for over 3 years. Just flick off the water or wipe it, and it should last a long time. For the price and years of use, its fine as it is BUT it could use improvement for durabilityJust dont leave water on the threads when stored.

Love it
I love this little holder, I can’t see spending over $100 for a glass holder for my Shapton stone and my don’t stones. I free hand sharpen like Rob Cosman. This thing holds the diamond stone and the shapton stones really well and because I have my sharpening station set up on a silicone dog water Mat, ir doesn’t slide at all.Have had zero problems with the one in the right, which I have had for 2 years, even when it was just sitting on plywood, it didn’t slip. This is the second one ( new in left) and if I need more I will surely get more of them.Great priceWorks as describedBuy it !

Perfect
I use Shapton glass plates and Trent diamond plates and these holders work perfectly. Many woodworkers mount the plates/stones on a board but for the way I use the stones these work better for me. They hold well and are stable. Put some non-slip silicone drawer liner under them and they are rock solid on the bench. I have 9 plates/stones and have a holder for every one.

Quality product
This product is great for holding a sharpening stone. It has decent weight to it and is adjustable. Pretty much idiot proof.
