I was not familiar with Kast King reels until recently. Reel is sleek and small and has a sexy black paint job! Very comfortable handles and a smooth retrieve. I think this is one of the best reels for the money! Can't speak on the durability yet since I haven't had it long but it appears to be very well made. Worth a try!

Awesome reel and great value. To me it performs just as good or better than reels two times the price. It has a nice, sturdy, aluminum handle, which also makes it lightweight. The reel is smooth and handles really easy. I would definitely recommend.

I paired this with a KK Spartacus 2 7'1'' M-Fast casting rod. The reel casts well and even for someone like myself that doesn't have a ton of experience with baitcasters, it's fairly easy to avoid bird nests with the correct adjustments. Haven't caught anything on it large enough to really test out the drag but it feels smooth when tested by handed. I'm happy with my purchase. I'd say for anyone just getting into baitcasters this is a good one to start with.

This is my first casting reel and I was very uncertain if I could learn to use it!I also purchased the kast king matching rod, 7’ medium fast, I used 30lb braid.The quality and smoothness of the reel is impressive! My first attempts were laughable with a couple bird nests. But after playing with the reel spool tension and the magnetic braking I had it dialed in with the rapala type bait I was using. The second trip to my dock I was getting nice long casts and scored two of the largest bass I have caught all summer. I would highly recommend this Kast king rod a reel it’s a high quality and great value product. I will be buying more kast King products!!! Very Happy!!!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the reel. It’s super light weight but still has over 17 lbs. of drag. The reel is smooth and everything seems to resemble a $200 reel. KastKing continues to make quality stuff while sticking to it’s motto of keeping prices affordable. Bravo!

The brake settings are terrible on this. I am trying to throw a 1/2 ounce jerkbait, and the line keeps spinning off the reel birds nesting. I have the brakes almost set to Max. The brakes are set so high, that the lure barely casts now. If you lower the brakes,.the line just comes right off the Spool. This is the second kastking reel that has done this. I also have a royal legend 2 that does the same exact thing. It is like these reels are only made to throw 3/4 oz and higher. Once you get over 3/4 oz, the reel dosent do this. I also have the regular Spartacus 2, and that works great. Not good though having 2 out of 3 reels with brake settings this bad. I have been using baitcasters for quite awhile, so I know what I'm doing

It's still new, time will tell, but it's every bit as smooth as my SLX reels. Adjusting the magnetic brake Is simple, and this thing will cast a mile! I just ordered another that I really don't even need. Currently the price is incredible.

This thing is light, but feels quality in hand. Everything feels so smooth for this price point. Reel sits in a perfect position on the rod for my hand. You won't be disappointed with this purchase, it hits above its pay grade.
