Bought for 2001 Honda Insight
I am trying these shocks to replace my warn out stock rear shocks. Fast shipping and great price. The size is perfect as far as length and stroke go, but the "cross bar" that is on the top of the stock shock is large and is not easy to press into this shock's top eye hole. It's a big project and not worth saving the money for me as a Honda Insight replacement. Found out after removing the stock shocks that they were not that bad and still were working really well, so decided to leave them on and replace the springs instead with the daewoo heavy duty ones from hybrid revolt for $100 with free shipping. Well worth the investment and this alone made the biggest improvement to the BOUNCY honda rear end.

Generic Shock, Generic Application, Generic Price
Through some creative modification, I was able to fit these on the rear of my 2000 Honda Insight. The OEM shocks were so far gone that one would first suspect that someone replaced my rear tires with frog legs.Honda wanted $188 per rear shock for new ones. Now when you start paying that much to keep an economy car on the road (don't get me started on batteries), you take the "economy" out of "economy car". These Monroe shocks did the trick for a laughable fraction of what it could have cost. How do they perform, you ask? In the 10,000 miles since I put them on, the rear tires have stayed planted firmly to the road where they belong. Even if they don't last as long as the OEM shocks, I'll gladly purchase these again, slap them on, and keep on truckin'.

Monroe matic shocks are useless
These shocks are terrible! They are so weak and do not stop the car from bouncing and wallowing on the road. If you bounce the car with your hands the car keeps bouncing two more times! They are absolutely worthless.
