This remote worked great for my elderly dad. Nice large buttons & easy to program (if necessary). I also like the fact there's a limited number if buttons so he doesn't get confused with too many options.

when it came, i put in batteries and tried it on my LG tv. it worked perfectly with no programming. then, a few days later, i gave the remote to my friend with the nerve disorder in his hands. he has 3 tvs in his house and it worked perfectly with two of them. i am thinking the 3rd tv did not respond because it is a much older tv than the other two. no programming was required.the three buttons at the bottom are basically not needed - the 'home' button, the 'ok' button and a 'backup' button.anyway, my friend now has no problem changing the volume & channel & power on/off. He is very happy with this remote.BUY IT!

It's a nice big, easy to see remote, but it is missing some key functions like menu selection and movement in some menus on Roku TV's on other systems would probably be great for the visually impaired.

My mom has a brand new samsung TV and the remote was preprogramed to at least turn that tv on. I then used the Xfinity Universal remote and programmed it (followed the instructions on the provided youtube video). Took maybe five minutes to program all the buttons. What a lifesaver this remote is.

Not good for dementia or elderly with smart tvs. The home button sends them back to the main screen with too many options, and once they get back to the home screen on a smart tv you need the original remote to get them back into basic tv/cable.

This product is advertised as having "Universal Compatibility" including cable boxes. I attempted multiple times to use the learning functionality to have the remote control the channel selections for the cable box without success. After emailing customer service the reply was "The remote is not compatible with TV boxes. It should work directly with the TV" so apparently it is not universally compatible. It controls the TV's power and volume but it is not practical if you can't change the channels. This is unfortunate as my elderly loved one easily gets confused with too many buttons on the cable remote control. This would have been a great help if it worked.

I like that you can program the buttons. I've programmed all but the power and volume buttons to do nothing. This way my dad can accidentally take the TV off the channel he wants to watch.

Perfect for my relative with 80+ year old vision and hands. Programming to LG big screen TV was a breeze.

This didn't work on the TV. Volume and mute worked and power and channel selection did not. Tried using their video to program. Programmed many times and did not work. It was on a brand the maker listed as compatible. Unfortunate as I like the buttons for a senior with dementia.
