great antenna for the price.
This antenna rocks. I have made contacts on 5 different bands with the longest contact being digital 8k mile contact using 20 watts. It is not super high quality but it does perform, is compact, and gets the job done. My plan for this is temp use, camping etc.

Poorly made, getting a refund is a hassle, steer clear
Wish I had never ordered it. This antenna finally arrived, with no instructions, and no markings on which input is for ground and which is for the very thin metal telescoping antenna. So take a gamble on ruining your transceiver with a cheap load coil? Heck no. Also noticed some brownish markings inside the threads on the base coil that look like corrosion. The antenna is very lightweight, was stiff to slide, so I stopped after the first couple of sections. Doubt it would be durable in gusty winds, and how long would it continue to retract without breaking? Requested a refund, but will have to send it back to China and PAY for shipping. 😡

Could be better but it "Antenna's"!
I looked forward to using this antenna. I didnt hold high expectations for the quality of materials however. I was a little disappointed however to find 2 of the 3 issues I did.The first issue, I took a moment to look at the antenna and coilless connector, as well as the spike. I wanted to see how well they had been constructed, and from what materials. Upon semi close inspection I was able to see rust and pitting on the internal threads of the red connector. So I got out a set of magnify lenses and looked closer, and saw a lot of pitting and rust throughout the connector. However, I did not see any on the SO-239 connection.Second, which side of the this red connector is meant to be "ANT" or "ground"? there is no indication. I had to get a meter on it.Those are the first two serious complaints I have about the antenna kit, after that I expected the vertical antenna to be a lightweight telescopic whip, and it is, a very lightweight whip. It may not stand on its own in some wind, and may need to be guyed even. The vertical that comes with it works, at least once! I would suggest considering a replacement quickly. My vertical whip out of package is a bit bent and twisted and would not stand vertical on its own. I had to offer it assistance. I wasnt too bothered by this as i also expected to be adding wire length to it anyways to gain lower bands and to set it up as an inverted L.In Short. If the producer of this kit were to use a slightly better whip, this would be an excellent lightweight vertical antenna kit that would compete with the better known brands! My main reason for purchase: I am going on a round the country bicycle tour and want an emergency lightweight antenna. I didnt want to spend a lot of money on some of the bigger name brand antenna kits and only wanted/needed a couple components from this kit in particular. So, far this has been an excellent choice. I would certainly purchase this again. Ive been building antennas for about 40 yrs, and this does the job just as well as the $$$ antennas if you can get the thing to stand up.

Cheap but works!
I had to use a multi-meter to determine antenna/ground ends of the coupler. The threads were exactly the same with no markings. The whip seems cheap - I have a couple of whips off of Aliexpress that seem more robust. But it has held up in the stiff FL winds, so far. With the whip fully extended and the ribbon cable divvied up into four clumps, I get a 1:1 ish swr. I think it's nice for quick deploy for backyard/POTA portable for 20m and up.

Feed Point Failure
The unit I received had a short on the ground side. To fix it would have had to disassemble the SO-239 and fix the connection. Totally not worth the effort. Kudos to the manufacturer for processing a refund.
