Compared to other wide width Billy shoes, these fit a bit more snug, but they are still wide enough for bulky AFOs. They seem durable so far and the best part is how colorful they are!

My son has AFOs so the zipper all the way around is a God send! I love Billy Footwear, but I have found with other pairs, the tongue was too thick and would cause the zipper to bust. That is NOT the case with these! They have been fantastic and look nice. This shoe comes with 2 liners so you can decide how much cushion you need! If your child has AFOs, I do recommend getting a wide size and remove the lining inside.

This shoe fits nicely over our grandson's AFO's. It's important to follow the directions and first loosen the shoestrings and then unzip the top section. Place the foot into the shoe. Zip it up, and then re-tighten the shoelaces to the desired tightness. Order large enough to accommodate whatever type of AFO you have. We will most likely order these again, as needed.

She normally wears 4, we got 5 X Wide for her AFO and they’re tight but fit. We have to push down along the zipper to get it closed properly. Then the zipper pull came off on the second use (repairable but for this price? It shouldn’t need repairing after 2nd use).

These are advertised as able to accomodate AFOs but even the XW and sizing up one size did not work for our child. I do not recommend these for kids with AFOs.
