The Last of the Corrupt and Greedy Shahs
It's really two books in one. It's a very personal account of her experiences working for the Iranian embassy in Switzerland and for several government organizations in Iran, and it also describes the tremendous failure of the Shah's government to help the common citizenry of Iran. There's a lot of good information here that I haven't found elsewhere. I expect it's available elsewhere, but I haven't yet found another intimate and detailed account of the extreme corruption, greed and sheer stupidity of the Shah and the Shah's government. It makes it clear what a tragedy his reign was. He had all those years to educate and prepare his people so they could create and support a democracy, and instead he was as greedy and self-serving as most of the other Shahs of Iran have been. He is in great part responsible for what became of Iran after he was finally run out of the country.
