We can not attach these to our Bluebird house just yet as they have 3 babies in their house at the moment. As soon as the babies fledge these will be attached to our birdhouses (we have wren babies in the other Bluebird house). It is a constant battle keeping the Starlings and Sparrows from destroying our songbird nests, these guards will at least help deter the Starlings. They will also deter/keep racoons from reaching in the house. We planned on making some of these but I am glad I found them already made. They seem of good quality and I see no issues that will arise when attaching them, as the installation is simple.

I've tried in the past, to stop the black starlings from taking either the eggs or the newly hatched baby birds but nothing worked. With these in front of the door, it sticks out far enough to allow them to live & keep the hatchlings away from death

Lost a couple of nests this year to predators so I install four of these. Will see if they work next session as nesting is over now. They look like they will do the job. Easy to install. Only complaint is that the item did not include all of the washers as shown. I had extras in my collection of parts so it did not really matter for me. But quality control should make sure you get everything that is ordered.
