QuickBooks for Contractors (QuickBooks How to Guides for Professionals)

I have been using Quickbooks for years but only recently started using it with our construction company. Since the structure of our two business was so different I needed assistance with setting up Quickbooks for Contracting.The book 'helps' but certainly is not the answer. It gave me a good starting point for setting up estimates and paying/tracking subcontractors. It is imperative that you know Quickbooks inside and out before purchasing this book. Furthermore, note that this book is for the Desktop installed version - not the web version (and further still, it is the Windows version - not Mac...we are 100% Mac so things are a bit different).Regardless the book is helpful but like any book, don't expect it to give you all the answers.

Members of our organization have taken the QuickBooks courses that Craig Kershaw teaches and find his books to be very well done with lots of useful tips. This book gives the reader clear and concise ways to customize QuickBooks for a construction company. In many cases more than one way of doing things is presented and the user is guided to select the method that works best for them. The best out there. Save yourself headaches and frustration. Go with the pro. Buy it!

This book is very informative, however I may have missed it but, it is most helpful if you have the contractor version of QB. I have the pro version which you can use for contractors so there were quite a few things my version could not do. The upside is intuit is probably going to get another $400 from me because this book is full of good tips you can use with the contractor version of QB and now I want it all.

This is a great resource for anyone looking to improve their knowledge of this software. It gave me the information I was looking for.

Got this as an added resource and tool for my job. Still going through it, but was excited to see that it has lots of great information to include examples and instructions.

Complete book. Interesting to see general accounting transferred to a software. Particularity of contractor's accounting is shown in a very educational way.

If you're a small contractor trying to figure out the mess of Quickbooks, get this book.It really helped me out and is well done with great examples.

Good overview, would have like a bit more detail.
